Eat your oatmeal!

January is National Oatmeal Month!

 

Try to eat more of this healthy food. Not only is it thrifty,it is a soluble fiber that helps with blood cholesterol levels and a healthy gastrointestinal system.

 

If plain oatmeal is boring..add fruit and or nuts!

Cook it with milk.

 

Eat it straight from the package, cold, with milk.

 

Bake it into cookies or bread.

 

fry a bit in butter and then pour over hot broth, simmer.

 

Make cereal bars.

 

Whir it in a blender, and use it to replace flour in baking.
