  1. I purchased Atlas Shrugged but never read it. But...I left it on my hubby's nightstand/bookshelf. Guess what he's reading??? He's on 134. He said he hopes it gets better.
  2. I used a food processor. My blender is broken.
  3. I made a pumpkin/tofu pie. It tasted like pumpkin pie but the recipe said to use FIRM tofu. Because it was FIRM you could still see bits of white in the pie. I could not get over the 'look' of the pie. I should have eaten it without looking at it.
  4. I needed something from Mare's collection so I figured it ought to be a sticky!

  6. I know I'm not Westie Oh, when a stranger comes in and he comes to find one of us, he will stay with us until he feels comfortable. Usually this only last 5 to 10 minutes. Then he's "Yellow Dog."
  7. My Max (photo #2) (see attach) I have a question about LG dogs. When Max is inside the house with us and someone comes to the door he will bark! This is great! Now my question is.. Why does he go and hide after we open it? 125097-PI5Send2_0_.Jpg
  8. My Max. (see attach) He is almost 4 months old and already huge! Max is a Great Pyrensees/ ? . You can tell that he's not a full Pyrensees by him not having the fluffy face. You can tell he is by his extra toe, which is gross by the way. My Dad calls him Yellow Dog off of the movie Funny Farm with Chevy Chase. 125095-PI5Send1_0_.Jpg
  9. I came across this....very interesting. For hard-core self-sufficient types who prefer not to spend any of their cash, milk can also be curdled with infusions from certain wild-harvested or garden-grown plants: Lady's Bedstraw, nettles and thistle flowers. Harvest the herb; dry out of the sun. Make a strong "tea" from the plant material using one handful of herb to one cup of boiling water; let cool before using. The amount you'll need will vary by the quality of your herbs-keep a record of the amount you use so that you can adapt your recipe to reflect the changes. Herbs may alter the taste of your finished cheese, too. Source:How To Develop A Low-Cost Family Food-Storage System by Anita Evangelista (I love her books! )
  10. Quote: They roam freely with the dogs to watch over them. Where they go the dogs follow, the dogs job is the goats. We just got a Great Pyrenees puppy and I have a few questions about them guarding goats. At what age do I introduce him to the goats? We intoduced him and the goats butted him and that time didn't go well. He is 7 weeks old. When we go out to take care of the goats he goes where we go. It's hard right now to work with him wanting to stand in between our legs. He's not good at staying just yet! I want him to both guard the goats and our family, is this possible?
  11. I was just thinking I needed to make another batch of soap. I'm down to about 25 bars of my homemade stuff. I'm going to make mint and tint it green. OOOOh....AAAAh.
  12. We have a gate that closes off our driveway and it's connected to a wooden fence then on to regular fence wire. We took electric fence wire and attached it in between the wooden planks and in between the gate rungs and everyone, I mean everyone thinks that it's got current going through it! As for hiding things like water barrels I would use bushes. Bushes will hid a lot of things.
  13. Some new people moved on the road that my parents live on and I noticed something that they did.... They are also into prepping, I know, I know the kind of things to look for. They planted sunflowers along the front of their garden, running along the road. You couldn't even tell their was a garden behind it. Very cleaver! Plant lots of sunflowers!
