  1. I went down the road this morning to help Ao5 unload the trucks. It took about 3 hours to get everything unloaded and into the house. Now all she has to do is unpack. It is a very nice house with maybe 6 acres. She has plenty of room for a garden and some livestock. The whole family is pumped with what can do with the place. Now I'm off to the couch for a bit. 2. How would you handle this? You have a garden spot that has very poor dirt. You decide that you will get manure and put on the entire area. The manure is well seasoned and you put it down about two inches thick. All of this is done without doing any soil test. Yes you can buy the test kits at the big box stores or send them off for testing, but If none of these options are available, what would you do? I know that there are different types of manure, so pick the one that you can get the easiest and or the most of. Here are the questions: Do you till it in and plant? Do you till it in and wait a year before planting to let the ground get all the nutrients it can before planting? Do you let it stay on top of the soil for a year and then till it in next year? After the manure has been on the garden for one year, how long do you wait before adding more and how would you determine how much to add? John

I'll bring a couple of roast stuffed with fresh spinach and bread and a big bowl of white beansto go with the cornbread. Now where is my plate? John
  5. Chili is hard for me to can. I have too many jars that don't seal and I have to reprocess them. It is usually my fault by either not having the correct headspace or not getting the rims oft the jars clean. My take is if the jar is sealed tightly then it is safe to use, but if the lid comes off too easily, I would toss it. John
  6. Same here. Quite day, good food, good company. John
  7. I started printing the list out and now I'm out of ink. Can't complain, this cartridge has lasted me a little over 5 years. On the way I divided everything into groups, some pages will only have one reciepe on them. John
  8. Okay, I can get carried away at times. I got to thinking what if someone wanted to print these out and keep them in catagories such as soups, main disjes, beverages, etc.. So I went and seperated them out & came up with 37 pages to print so that no reciepe is split on two pages ( I hate when that happens ). John
  9. I was wrong. I went and copied Mirta's format and by deleting lines and adding lines so that a recipe was on a page and not cut off and on two pages it still takes 33 pages to print. I also did the same with Cat's post and got 35 pages to print. John
  10. Using the "New Times Roman" font at 12 point size it takes 30 pages. If you print out the post that Mirta did and delete the line between reciepe's it takes 33 pages. I'm sure Mirta's could be made a bit smaller by taking out some blank lines. John
  11. The video stopped because I had to look the answer up. I'll do some more later. John
