  1. Thanks Shadow. Had a wonderful day!
  2. I find that I get a better deal by buying a whole chicken and cut up myself. That way I can use the carcass and boil it up with whatever veggies I have in the fridge to make soup or stocks then freeze for later. Also, I have been buying medium ground beef for the past 3 or 4 years for $2.99 a pound. The grocery store I go to didn't have any for a couple of weeks and last week they reappeared but are now $4.89 a pound for the same thing. Guess I won't be buying anymore unless it goes on sale.
  3. Thanks Shadow. Sorry for not getting back sooner but have been extremely ill.
  4. Extremely well put and very thought provoking!
  5. Dear Lord, Every single evening As I'm lying here in bed This tiny little Prayer Keeps running through my head God bless all my family Wherever they may be, Keep them warm And safe from harm For they're so close to me. And God, there is one more thing I wish that you could do; Hope you don't mind me asking, Please bless my computer too. Now I know that it's unusual To Bless a motherboard, But listen just a second While I explain it to you , Lord. You see, that little metal box Holds more than odds and ends; Inside those small compartments Rest so many of my friends. I know so much about them By the kindness that they give, And this little scrap of metal Takes me in to where they live. By faith is how I know them Much the same as you. We share in what life brings us And from that our friendships grew. Please take an extra minute From you duties up above, To bless those in my address book That's filled with so much love. Wherever else this prayer may reach To each and every friend, Bless each e-mail inbox And each person who hits 'send'. When you update your Heavenly List On your own Great CD-ROM, Bless everyone who says this prayer Sent up to GOD.com. Amen

    Happy Birthday maw

    Thanks Jori & Luma. It's official - I am now a senior citizen....lmao!!!
  9. 1. Buy property that I have been looking for, for 6 years! 2. Get greenhouse set up and running.
  10. When life is getting you down, remember ................ 1] Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout the journey. 2] So why is a Car's WINDSHIELD so large and the Rear View Mirror so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So Look Ahead, and Move on. 3] Friendship is like a BOOK: It takes a few minutes to burn, but it takes years to write. 4] All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either. 5] Old Friends are Gold! New Friends are Diamond! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a Base of Gold! 6] Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, Sweetheart, it's just a bend.... not the end! 7] When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems, HE has faith in your abilities. 8] A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!" 9] When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you. 10] WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES, it takes away today's PEACE. Live simply. Love generously; Care deeply; Speak kindly; Leave the rest to God.
  11. Masterful Jet Stream Whacker!!
  12. I apologize for not posting very often, but I will be focused on finding the right property for myself and hopefully get moved this year. I also am looking at couponing (there doesn't seem to be as much here in Ontario as there are in the U.S.) Need to get gardening more and processing more of my own food.

    What IF?

When I first saw the drought maps I cleaned out one of the tote boxes on wheels that fit under beds and made a list of all the dehydrated vegetables I would need to see me clear until the next harvest. I have been slowly adding to this box and I am amazed at how much I have accumulated. Our pantry is full to overflowing with can goods and preserves but I am still cramming in as much as I can. Guess I'm gonna have to do a bit of reorganizing if I hope to get more in there. Its been very hot & dry up here as well but not nearly as bad as you folks have had it. My prayers are with you and hopefully we will ride this out. Missy
