My DH and I have been using the envelope system for about 3 months now. It works well for us because we both wait tables and have alot of cash on hand. If anyone has any questions about getting started (more than the article explains) let me know, I'd be happy to help out! Bobbie

You're right theyd, they can be quite vicious dogs . . . but my DH and I have spent hours with them playing and loving on them so that they don't want to harm anyone. They don't mind new people at all, which is a good sign, they just don't like strangers who walk right into our house . . . which is also a good thing! We've done everything to them we could think of that a small child might do to a dog (like pull their ears and tails) and they do not react harshly. Ours are just big babies,

So, I just got home from work and what was possibly the worst day of work that I've had there . . . ever!! And I've worked there for a year and a half. I am a waitress at a Ruby Tuesday (mind you, it's the third Ruby's I've worked at because I like the company so much) but the managment in this one is just horrible. I don't know if it due to the fact that it is a college town or what, but our managers are worthless. I had to stay almost 2 hours after my shift was basically over to run food for my fellow "team members" with not even so much as a "thank you" from any of them. all day long . . .

Hill, we used a shock collar to train our American Pit Bull Terrier. It worked great with her. She listens well now, we don't worry about her with other people at all. Most brands of shock collars do let you adjust the voltage, so only the smallest volts are used. The only thing that you might want to think of is that most dogs are trained to a beeping noise when a shock collar is used. It lets them know what the unacceptable behavior is, kinda gives them a warning and then if it continues (say they aren't sitting when you ask) then you would shock them. You may want to do some research on different types of shock collars and see if there is something that may vibrate instead, so that he will know that you want his attention or whatever. My DH and I are pretty strapped for cash these days and we've been eating the Banquest Crock-pot classics. They are about 5 dollars a bag and we have plenty of left overs for dinner the next day! You have to add water to them, but they are easy and ready when you get home from work. They are a life saver to us!!!

Just an update, we aren't buying the house.

Well . . . my DH and I are probably going to be buying our first home in the next couple of weeks!!! We made an offer on a house today about 15 minutes out of town. It sits on 2 acres, so I would have enough room for my dogs to play, and still plant a garden without having to worry about them getting into it. It is a cute little house that needs a lot of love, but I've got a lot of love to give, so I hope that everything turns out well. We are both college students, so we've been renting for the past three years, and we are tired of paying someone else's house payment. And the crazy thing is that we will probably be paying less that what we've paid in rent!! Anyway, I just wanted to share with you all how excited I am!! I'll let you know how things go!!

I just got home from one of my best friends weddings on the beach in South Carolina and had recieved this in an email from a friend. My DH and I ended up spending more money than we should have while we were gone, but I haven't seen my friend in over a year, and we are caught up on bills, so I figure that she means more to me in the long run than a few bucks. This email made me think of you all and how you have blessed my life and have helped me to think of all the things that I shouldn't take for granted. My mom and dad live in London, about a half hour from where that earthquake was. My mom said that the elementry school moved a little, but they just thought it was the winds from Ivan until they found out that there had been an earthquake. 3.7 is huge to us folks who have never been around anything higher!!

I don't know if any of you have heard of this baby and her family or not, but if you haven't please add them to your prayer lists.
