  6. About one inch pieces would have been sufficient. But, anyway, you are basically getting it to melt. Usually the left over pieces will curl up and get sort of hard. The lard will be clear until it cools. Leftovers chunks should stay white or even brown like cracklings. I did mine in the microwave for a few minutes at a time. You could try that for a small batch to see how it's going to come out for you. Let us know.
  7. Got a Kmart coupon in an email for $25 dollars off a $50 purchase. Couldn't pass that one up, so I used it for toilet paper, paper towels, batteries, laundry detergent, dishsoap and toothpaste and coffee. Some of the prices were higher than I would normally pay until they dropped by half with the coupon. I walked out of there feeling like I'd won a prize! They can send me another coupon like that!
  8. Cheesy Beef and Noodles in the crockpot. 2 cups macaroni, 2 cups shredded cheese, 2 cans cream of mushroom soup, 2 cups milk, 1# left over beef roast cut into chunks, 1 cup frozen veggies (I used the leftover carrots from the roast), 2 T dehydrated onion flakes, salt and pepper. Slow cook 6-8 hours or until noodles are tender.
  9. Happy Birthday! You share a birthday with one of my favorite people, Dd16.
  10. Ouch! Hope you recover quickly. Sounds like you better keep that leg up and elevated.
  11. Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday Dear Deeeeeeee, Happy Birthday too you! (Smiley faces not working on IE?)
  12. 8 parts Raspberry leaf 3 parts Peppermint 2 parts Nettles 3 parts Alfalfa This is the concoction that a friend prepared for me. Lots of nutritional value for the female body. She also recommended that I use lots of red clover. I didn't see any noticeable changes in me, but then again I was only trying to get and stay pregnant. I always had normal cycles. My oldest daughter went from really sporadic cycles that would take anywhere up to 40 days to commence to cycles that came every 28 days. She would make a quart of tea, drink half and refrigerate the rest until the next day. I think it took 3 months of drinking it everyday before it regulated her. I know this is an old thread, but thought to share anyway.
  13. Aw, looks like Mitten Cordelia! One of my daughter's cats.
  14. I must be too far north. I am unfamiliar with hominy. Is it yummy?
  15. Yay! Congrats on paying off that debt! You can sleep easier now!
  16. For future reference I would suggest clicking gift even if you are purchasing a new one for yourself. Consider what could happen if it got lost in the mail. Registering it to you account when you receive it will allow you to retreive all your books. Hi Dee, glad to see you!
