Oh no I better get going, haven't even got my outside lights up yet. Maybe on Sunday, We usually go and cut our own tree down, so that is not until the week before Christmas. I have most of my presents bought, and some of them wrapped. going to see my brother on Sat. leaving at 5:30 am,catch a 7:20 ferry be there by about 8:30.... bringing lunch for us.... have to be back home before dark, I don't drive really well in the dark especially on the highway from the ferry, very dangerous and scary for my. Yeah....it's great to see you Snowmommie.....also happy you had a great visit with the kids.....man......i'm late this year with all my shopping and decorations......it's one of those...i don't care years.......i dunno.....i'll get around to it......i already saw one item i bought...at a much better price....but could'nt get out to get it and bring back what i bought.....i hate that when that happens.....so now i'm thinkin to wait....cuz most of the good sales are closer to Christmas......but ya take a chance that way..... logcabinmama Posted December 5, 2002 Share Posted December 5, 2002 Morning everyone. We have not had a real tree in years. I think maybe one or two is all in the past 34 years. When our #1 son was a baby, only 3 months old, he ended up in the hospital at Christmas, due to allergies. Dr thoutht it might be the tree, so, no more real trees. As the kids got older, they wanted a real tree, so we did have one, then maybe one more. We still have the first artificial tree we bought in 1968. We bought a new one 3 years ago after Christmas as it was on sale. It is a BIGGER tree. Now just wish I had a BIGGER room for the tree. I am NOT done shopping either. And to top that all off, I have no idea where to send our # one son's or the grandkids gifts to. Will have to get an address from him soon so I can ship them. Now, I have a question for you all. Do you think I should send a gift to the ex-wife? She will be at our DD for Christmas. Hope Pat comes through the chemo real good this time. Are you still looking for a house, Beb? Have you decorated your house yet? I had the salvation army come by and get a lot of extra furniture we don't use yesterday, so we have a little more space. Been in this house for 12 years so have collected a few things. I have tosell in two years so start getting rid of things now. Smommy my own personal opinion is that you should get ex wife a small gift, I am an exwife and the other family totally ignores me now. Not a nice feeling when you were part of that family for 23 years. So unless she did something really really really bad and you don't speak to her at all, I would get her something small. Just my opinion. Every year we go out and cut down a tree, and every year I say okay we are going to get an artificial tree, and the kids freak out, every year I say alright but only a small real tree, and guess what? Every year it is huge. I have only a small house and a big big tree. sigh oh well, My brother was not feeling well at all yesterday has to come over to the mainland to see cancer specialist again today, he is getting double vision and terrible headaches, hoping it is just a side effect of all the medication he is taking. Will find out this afternoon. I am working after school today, cutting down blackberry bushes, must remember my gloves. Snowmommie......i'm with Brigie.....a small gift would be a nice thing to do.....i'm sure she'd appreciate your thoughtfulness!! Haven't looked at any houses lately....the Realtor was on vacation.....waiting to hear if she's made appointments to see houses we wanted to look at......tick tock......wait wait.......did i tell ya the "buyer" of this house we live in now.....is coming over saturday for a final walk through....before closing.......so we'll see what's up soon. Hi Brigie......ya....sometimes i wish i had that sewing kit handy.....i tend to get myself in trouble.....see.....i was a good girl! We used to get a real tree.....until the kitty kept getting sick drinking the water out of the bottom....so we caved and bought a fake"real lookin" tree. The colors match my dining room where i have it......it's got all white tiny lights... sage green/white/gold/mauve-ie pink balls.....white iridescent pearls..and dangle-ie iridescent icicles thingies (hard to describe)....white lace-ie/pearl homemade ornaments...lace tree skirt. Only a few more days and you will be in your new home. Wow, and to get to decorate for Christmas the minute you get there. That will be so much fun. How is your ankle coming, are you able to be on your foot much at all? I wanted to know what others thought about the gift for the ex, as I was very undecided. I think I will send her something and add a little note too. She use to call me a lot and we/she would talk for an hour. I really sort of miss that too. Hope everyone is getting all decorated and all ready for Christmas now. It is at +10 degrees this morning, so another very cold day here in MN. This is the coldest Fall in years. It could have waited another 50 years for me too. Ok, I seemed to have missed something here, how did Beb sew her mouth/lips together??? Brigie, give Pat a hug from me/us here, or is that what Beb asked you to do already. I hope things go well for him at the dr. Let us know what happened after the people came to see the house again, Beb. Also, if you are going to see any other homes. Well, can't stay here all day, so must go check out a few other forums now. Oh, I got a gift wrapped for my sister yesterday afternoon and last night I wrapped a gift for each of the grandchildren. The first ones wrapped, now for many others. She was a good girl. Glad you are going to send dinlaw a small gift. Spotty you must be getting so excited.... I would be .... but I would also be panicking...remember to breath and stay off your foot. Bleb..... you make me laugh in all the forums.......thanks.... oh our xmas tree is decorated with anything we can find. not much of a theme person and nothing in the house matches since ex moved out and took stuff. Soon will buy all my own stuff. I do have all the decorations the kids made me over the years from about 3 years old and up we hang them up and laugh everyyear. Pat went to oncologist on mainland yesterday, and they did a cat scan of his head.... no brain..., I told him that years ago..... just kidding.... nothing wrong there so they say it must be medication. He has another chemo today. I will be visiting him tomorrow, he said I could hold the toilet seat up so it doesn't hit him in the head. hahaha Don't know if I will get on tomorrow leaving before first light. so have a good day today and tomorrow all.
