Please select ONE of the topics below that you would MOST like to see as a guest chat topic. This poll will be open for only ONE week!

1. "Ask-the-Nurses" would be a panel of Registered Nurses available to answer any random questions the membership (that's you) has. Some questions might require research and a later reply via PM. This chat may or may not be archived, depending on the nature of private health issues discussed.

2. "I Am the Potter" We have in our midst an experienced potter who can talk to us about ceramics, clay and touch on primitive techniques.

3. "Verbal De-escalation" ... may sound strange and wordy, but is simply verbal methods (words to say) to 'talk down' someone who is agitated, violent or otherwise out-of-control. Verbal deescalation techniques are used daily by ER personnel, peace officers and psychiatric staff.

**Cat pulls up the file marked "Princess Boot Camp" and pulls out the "troublemakers" folder. In big red marker, she carefully writes "HSMom".**

Not medical advice! Only physicians can dispense medical advice or diagnose disease. But nurses are better qualified to educate patients/families/people than any other professional. We would just be providing some education, not medical advice. As for taking our 'advice'...it will be well-backed by reputable websites (like Mayo, WebMD, etc).

Ok. It just struck me as not a good thing, as it wasn't presented that way in your original post. However, it's your license on the line...

No worries Jewlz. I voted for de-escalation too. I think it's a very valuable skill.

Is there something you need to tell us? wink
