cookiejar
As they entered Port Everglades, sailors aboard the USS Gunston Hall were greeted by flag-waving residents Les and Georgi Stockel and Madelyn McGarry. About 40 people hiked to the jetty on the north side of the Port Everglades Inlet while approx twice that many viewed the ships from the south at John U. Lloyd State Park in Dania Beach. Photo by R.C. White / For the Herald I thought you'd like to see this, there's a group of people that for the past 5 years greet the ships with flags weaving. There's actually a lot more people but these are the folks that hike all the way out to the jetty. Please know that massive spoiling of the crews (South Florida Style!) will commence now. :usaflag2: Link to comment
