CanyonCreek Posted May 9, 2008 Share Posted May 9, 2008 What a wonderful site!! I've been quietly preparing since before Y2K, with renewed efforts about a year ago. My husband and I are parents to two young adult daughters -- we both enjoy gardening year 'round for all of us here in the Pacific NW. I'm excited to harvest our first garlic crop this year (that is, if we can keep our eight hens out of the garden -- free range works well around our place only during the winter!) I'm so happy to have found all of you and look forward to many chats! Link to comment

-6 Posted May 9, 2008 Share Posted May 9, 2008 Welcome Canyon Creek, We free range our birds also but during gardening season they get shut up until a couple of hours prior to roosting time. That way they don't have time to go far(garden about 300 feet from pen)and I can gently guide them if they get errant. My niece/hubby are headed to Seattle asap for a new job. wc Link to comment
