tapping trees

Recommended Posts

As a sometime-beekeeper, I have to say that open buckets or jugs with sweet sap in them would be very attractive to the little critters--who would, I'm sure, promptly drown.

:sSig_thankyou:   These are great resources.  I love permits.com.  I've been a member for years and have learned so much about edible and sustainable landscaping there.

In the past, not having maple trees, we've tapped box elders which I believe are the same family.  The sap is fairly bland and the syrup when finished isn't as sweet but it makes a very passable substitute.
