  1. Teaching kids..................................

Did another Museum tour today (been doing them for over 35 years now I think?) and the stuff kids don't know anymore?

Part of old tour talked about milk and cheese and I would ask what we divide milk into so we get cheese? Then I would start to say:

"Little miss Muffit sat on her tuffet eating her..........................

and they would all finish it!

NOW they just look at me like I am from another Planet?

They also have no idea about things they Parents did as kids: like playing board games, marbles, jumping rope, etc.

The best part is I used to say "If you are interested in something I said go home and look it up in a book or go to the Library and ask for help.

NOW I just say "GOOGLE IT"! and they all know what I mean.

I am getting to old for this...................................

  2. OK - I know better but........................

anybody want to help me out and sign up for this?

I need 5 people so I can help out a friend that wanted me to join the 'chain'. (she is Amish)

here's the deal you get one letter ( I did) and then you send a recipe to the name on the letter and put 6 return address labels and the letter and then mail to 6 'friends' you are to get back 36 recipes! WOW sounds like fun , yes? no? maybe!

So IF you want me to sent you a chain-letter please send me you address in a PM, I promise to send you nothing else ! (well maybe some stickers for helping out).

Yes I do hate these things but she wants to see what happens.

    thanks,

  3. Day 5.

    Cat 5 - Jeepers 0

Spider Solitare is my favorite. I usually play a game or two when I'm waiting for something to load or I'm ready to shut down.

I've played 1,782 games and have won 100%.

I have had to undo some plays though so I might be cheating?

You do know there are 3 levels to that game?

are you on the basic? go to game in upper left and look there for 'options' to see what level you are on.

I like the middle one not t o hard so I win some - lose some.

  4. ...................... Just another reason to "grow your own" when you can! a.k.a. BIG VEGETABLE GARDEN!

Also buying local whenever possible - like the honey

Buying from local farmers means you can "see' where it come from.

For Organic from China that's just a trick they pay so they can charge more! It just means no chemicals where used to 'grow the fish'. It doesn't mean the water was clean or they were happy fish growing up?

  5. Still haven't trapped that cat. :gaah:

    Not even once.

find a place that has 2 or 3 dots close together and fill them in first.

then fill in a dot on the other side to 'turn him around'.

now just go from side to side fill in dots and you can trap him.

PS also make sure there is a space before you type in the first : :hi:

  7. Lori uses the straight hair pins to hold her headcovering on.....................

and I find them everwhere! so I will save my next one for her.

REMEMBER to mark them so you don't 'need a mint' and put the wrong box up to your mouth and shake out a few!!!!!!!!!

  8. I really need to get out more!

I didn't even know about those P-Touch machines. I thought label makers were still those things that had a dial and spit out those hard embossed plastic strips. And I love to label things. :sigh:

Looks like a trip to Best Buy/Office Max is in my future this week. Any recommendations on the best one or the ones to stay away from? :sSig_help2:

    Thanks Philbe...I think $$$

here's a great hint when buying things like this or computer prints........................

After you find the one you like - go find out how much the replacement ink is! some time you can get something on sale that will save you money until you have to replace the ink, then they get you.

We had gone to Staples to get a new printer - found 2 we like 1 had a replacement ink for $32.95 and the other one was $98.95! Guess which one we got? LOL

  9. WOW how big is it?

Are you using it now to make bread and pizza on? - - and why NOT! LOL

google cutting marble but I think all you have to do is score it and hit it with a chisle to cut it up

If it is to big to use as it is maybe take it somplace that would cut it up for you now? make a small piece to carry , a piece to use for bread making, and if any left a small table or cutting board for cheese.

So funny as when I first saw the topic - marble table - I thought GREAT I just got a bag of mables in a box lot at an Auction and was thinking of the old board games using marbles? LOL

  10. She be right about using outside!

You spend all the time to make good labels..........

Then when you 'need' to read one - blank!

b.t.w. IF you want good 'sticks' to go with that system- at yard sale look for "CHEAP" mini blinds (the white ones work best)

Cut off all the strings and you have lots of white plastic strips. Cut them up into nice size pieces (I angle cut mine) and round the tops and you will have a TON of sticks for gardening. Black markers works well on the but will fade after a few months. Also keep a few long so you can divide you seed trays by placing one on its side.

These also work great all around the house for all kinds of things! Even book marks and we have them in a few colors as well!
