  1. Well I certainly didn't expect them to eat 12 pints when they have never eaten so much as a tablespoon of it before now. It was just that good!
  2. Hey ladies, the apple butter was a big hit. They ate it all! Looks like Fall 07 will be much mo buttah cookin round here.
  3. Hi ladies, Just FYI it took 38 medium sized Cortland apples to fill up my 5 1/2 quart crockpot with applesauce. I apple peeled, cored, and sliced them with my Pampered Chef corer slicer. Cooked them into sauce and then ground them through my colandar to remove bits and pieces. It's reducing as we speak, so I'll have applebutter by tomorrow. Since it's only 2 Cups shy of Darlene's recipe using 6 quarts I merely shorted the sugar and cinnamon just a little and it tastes good to me.
  4. Darlene darling, that looks good and I don't even like split pea soup!
  5. Yes, Buttercup, I have the same question. If I want to start with apples
  6. I canned my salsa last night. Am I silly or what? This is a lot of fun. I'm going to try the chicken soup Sunday. BTW, my sister Gooseliver said to tell you all hi. That some of you ladies might even remember her as Goosie.
