  1. If you want something just lovely and relaxing to watch or play in the background, this Youtube channel is fabulous: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjNhkoz3yGwGuKU_G8x7UL_ViDD--7JRL

She has a lovely calming voice and specifically aimed at making her channel soothing.  She's an artist living in a tiny town up in Oregon, lots of fantastic scenery, calming music, changing seasons, bits of random arts & crafts, etc.

  2. We're having a lot of people with respiratory crud - sore throats and headaches seem to be the main symptoms, some with fever, some without.  It's to the point where I'm sending out a morning report to the staff with who's out each day.  There's only 12 of us, and today 5 are out for various reasons.  Some are sick themselves (one COVID, one getting tested but hoping it's just respiratory crud), some have kids getting sick (again, getting tested, but hoping it's just respiratory crud), 2 quarantining, and 1 claiming he's just tired, not sick.

I think I'll keep taking my vitamin C and D and other supplements...

Spaghetti sauce was very low too. I've been picking up a jar or two of Classico sauce every now and then. I haven't tried it yet but I've been getting it because of the jar. Someone said a mason jar lid and ring fit on it and can be used for water bathing. I plan to use them for vacuum sealing to save my real canning jars. Nice square-ish jar with Atlas on the side of it. Someone else said they changed the lid size. Guess I'll find out.

We like the Classico, but I've been buying the 3-pack of big jars at Sam's here lately.  I'll check the lid next time we use a small jar.

You will love it! I saw them several years ago and had an incredible time. Unfortunately it was before I got my hearing aids, so while I could still enjoy the music, I lost a lot of the value of being able to hear/understand their on stage banter.  I would love to be able to get to another concert and be able to soak it ALL in. Maybe. Someday.

This will be my third time seeing them live. They're a blast!  :hapydancsmil:

Go to Youtube and search "Home Free Story Time with Tim".  Bits of the concerts where Tim was telling stories.

  5. Planned to go to a market and get groceries today.

Looked at my throat this morning because it was a bit cranky, and my tonsils are redder than usual.  I do believe I’ll stay home and start hitting the Vitamin C and a few other things hard…

You made a great haul. Such pretty items. I don't know about your state laws on selling homemade food but I have a friend in MS. who wanted to sell her own chili sauces and pepper sauces. They made her jump through hoops. She had to have a separate kitchen so she started making one in her garage. No pets were allowed in the area. Not even walking through. Everything had to be stainless steal. She got the water supply rerouted and got the sink installed. Next came the S.S. refrigerator. The S.S. stove had to be so big with a certain amount of burners. While she was thinking about it they told her she would have to remove the garage door and put a wall with a regular door in it. Every inspection they did it was something new. After a few thousand dollars invested, she called it quits before she even got her first bottle made. I don't know how some people get away with it. Maybe some states aren't as strict. Or maybe they are flying under the radar.

Very state dependent.  Look for “____ cottage food laws”.

got quite a shock today.  My sister was on the phone and said she was having short term memory loss big time.  Came on suddenly, and she is scared, naturally, since Mom had Altzheimers.  Mary & I just looked at each other and thought the same thing....covid shot reaction?  Did considerable digging, and found out that other people have had the same thing happen to them after getting covid injections.  Memory loss....cant remember what they went into a room for....one was asked by a co worker if he was drumk after he e mailed her a memo at work, his typing and thinking were so fuzzy.  Of course, this is all denied by the powers that be.  Funny thing, a world renowned virologist in India is suddenly a consipiracy theorist when he predicted such problems.  My heart aches for my sister.  She was so insistent I get the shot that she cried and told me she was frightened to death for me because I did not get the shot.  I blieve she was, she sounded scared spitless.  Now I am hurting for her and worried about my brother that did take the shot.  I do not know if I will tell her or not....it wont help now, and I want to help her get thru this, not say "I told you so".  I will have to sit down and cry and get it out of my system tonight then pick up and carry on.  we are putting in the winter garden, and there is no time to sit around.  Our freezers are refilled with meat as we broke the budget replacing our meat supplies.  We can now coast for quite a while if things get wierd.  or should I say wierd-ER?

That high ropes course looks like FUN!  Im strong albeit crooked....love to try such a thing.   Instead we shall just start clearing out some of our wooded parcel and put in a shooting range instead.  Noiser, but still satisfying.

Some practitioners who don’t believe the CDC are having luck reversing some of the side effects using the FLCCC’s protocol for long-haul COVID.

I had an argument with my husband this weekend about space travel.   I was making fun of the US for the millions spent on a gravity proof pen while the Russians just used a pencil.   DH adamantly defended the pen saying it was protocol, all documents had to be signed in black or blue ink and nothing could be erased.   I said that spending that much on protocol NOT function was our problem.   I told him that I'd rather have a redneck with me than a rocket scientist in an emergency and that we would never colonize space until we started focusing on cost effectiveness.  The current privatized space tourism for the rich should actually give us a lot of data about what works and what is cost effective.   It may actually go further towards us expanding past this planet.   It was actually a  heated argument that focused on space but was really about....protocol vs function and cost effectiveness.

The real issue, I've been told, was that the graphite dust from the pencil leads accumulates in electrical equipment and can cause it to short.

Somewhere, I have a cartoon about ripping weeds out instead of throats.  😝

I asked Mom once why she pulled weeds in the neighbors’ yard. She said that otherwise she’d be cleaning my room.  I decided that was my sign to shut up.

Guess what popped up in Facebook memories today?

  10. Went to Natural Grocers today. Very low on frozen veg, and their produce didn’t look great either. Got enough to do the stuff I wanted to do tomorrow.

Tired of always feeling like I’m running out of grocery money.

Picked up a non-citronella mosquito candle in hopes it’ll keep the buggers out of my office - they’re trying to eat me alive in there, and I’m no where near the door!

Our long-term hospice nurse said that mom was getting 'sassy' with me.   :laughkick:  Sometimes I'd just go out to the garden and rip a few weeds out by their necks. Seemed to be good therapy.  :whistling:

The Domestic Revolution by Ruth Goodman.  Talks about how the transition to coal for fuel in England changed the world, including how we wash up, decorate houses, and cook.  It’s fascinating.

By the way, I finished this book in 2 days.  She goes into quite a bit of detail on even the system of cutting and maintaining trees for wood and construction in England prior to the transition to coal, and the actual differences in how you would cook, keep house, and wash up given different fuel sources.
