Let me see... I liked the Hardy Boys; Rick Brant (he was like the Hardy Boys, but he lived with scientists and got to use all sorts of cool machines ); Trixie Belden was better than Nancy Drew (in my childish opinion) because she had a family instead of just a dad. - Even then, I found it annoying that the first thing they always seemed to do was kill off the mother. The Pink Motel; Harold and the Purple Crayon; Where the Wild Things Are; The Secret Garden; The Little Princess; The Pirates in the Deep Green Sea; The Magic Pawnshop; The Dragon Book - It was shaped just like a dragon! Swiss Family Robinson; Robinson Crusoe; Anything Dickens, or Jules Verne, or Shakespeare, or Twain; And there was a huge pink book full of poems and wonderful woodcut illustrations to go with them. Oh yes, Heidi... I liked Dr. Suess when he started publishing books, but I was a little old for them. I had a good time reading them when the kids were little, though!

I've been repacking rice from original bags into more sturdy ones. Started yoga again to get my body into better shape to handle what may come. Also experimenting with new recipes from storage foods for the sort of convenience foods we buy, to see if I can make things folks will actually eat.
