  1. Jeepers, I don't post often, but try to read most days. Do you ever have any real success with your dizziness problems? It seems to run in my family, and none of us can really get any help treating it. My brother even saw a chirop. that said she could cure him. She could not, and told him to never let anyone do the spinning procedure on him ever again, ever. Docs can tell if you are really dizzy by watching your eyes. I think they dart back and forth when you REALLY get dizzy. I take meclazine almost daily, helps some but not much.
  2. Our State had very low case counts for quite some time, then the count started coming up. Our own small town of 10,000 folks is increasing as well as several small towns around us has it climbing too.
  3. Bio Freeze is very good stuff. Comes in cream or roll on here. Chiopractor first gave it to DH and we have kept some around ever since.
  4. Several years ago, a local Church would take regular folks to Brazil to serve in the bush and help build churches and other building. The MD that headed it up told all people going to get the animal antibiotics from local farm stores for their own use and to leave with the folks in the villages they served. They had makeshift medical clinics as well as putting up buildings.
  5. Oh, Dee, my heart hurts for you. I, too, watch all the madness going on and wonder how did we get to this place in our country/world. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones, be watchful as you go.
  6. No Aldi here, but they keep saying there will be. When I shop one a ways from us, there is usually someone with a quarter in their hand and they will give it to me and I give them my returned basket. Don't have to deal with putting it back in the basket lines in the rain. Good way for both of us.
  7. Littlesister, I am feeling the same things you mentioned, plus a few more.
  8. Terro works great here for ants, inside and outside. The small black ants that is.
  9. We are only 15 miles from the MO line, and about middle of our state. I have often wondered how far apart we are from y'all. WE2ers are much more active and productive than we are.
  10. Once upon a time long ago, we wanted to move to the area we now live in, Ozark Mtns, from the big city of Memphis area. We finally decided to pray that God stop us if we should not move, because we never got a definitive answer. He did not stop us, and blessed us with a very easy sale, and basically an easy move. We are thankful.
  11. I have always heard aspirin is good until it starts to smell like vinegar. Now using a bottle that has exp date of 6/13. Still works fine, and is not crumbling.
  12. Have any of you eaten wild strawberries? We have a small crop each year that just keep coming back. They are larger this year and growing more plants. The flowers are yellow.
  13. Bless you. I heard a song on radio that the man was singing to his wife. He was saying, if I get to heaven before you, when you come too, don't look for me at the pearly gates, don't look for me on the streets of gold, because I will be at the feet of Jesus. I may not remember the words exactly, but I sat in the car and cried it was such a sweet song.
  14. Dee, I have been wanting to grow a few things in pots, since DH is not wanting to grow ANYTHING and I can maybe sneak a few pots in. I will visit our farmer's market on the town square, but some folks truck in veggies from outside our state. Not what I want to buy.

Welcome back, Mother. I too mostly just stop in to see how everyone is doing. DH is now 80 and I am 74. Sometimes I wonder why I stored all I did, and now I am giving some of the older foodstuff away. Seems like our little city is having so many homeless come in, or people here are having hard times. At least, we can still do most things we want to do, but we have slowed down, and are trying to clear out useless stuff so the "kids" won't have that burden. DH is a keeper of useless stuff, but is beginning to let go. I have recently been re-convienced that things
  16. Canned some boneless pork chops for son=in-law last night. We have just about done all the canning we need to. Makes DH nervous.
  17. You may be really surprised by what you see. Having studied art several years, and done some drawing and painting, I know my colors, usually. When I came in after my cataract surgery, I walked in the bedroom and said "you mean, I had this room painted that color? " Hubby laughed. Seems the cataracts tend to yellow vision in most folks. Well, he is not willing to repaint, but I did change the curtains. My kitchen cabinets really are white, and not a yellowish color. Funny that the doc didn't mention it until I told him I saw colors differently now.
  18. Please take care of yourself too. That is what he wants, I'm sure. Blessings to you all.
  19. But pumpkin is good for you, like a veggie???
  20. Here you go on the Pumpkin Crunch. Everywhere I take it I get recipe requests. box yellow cake mix 1 can pumpkin 12 oz can evap. milk 3 eggs 1 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1 cup butter 350 deg oven, 9X13 pan. Combine pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon and salt in large bowl. Pour into 9X13 pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the pumpkin mixture. Top with pecans. Drizzle melted butter over pecans and cake mix. Bake for 50-55 minutes. It is good with a box of spice cake mix inste
  21. I will use evaporated milk some past the due date. Cans look normal, open they smell normal and look normal, but maybe slightly darker. So I dip my finger in the milk and take a taste. If it taste ok, I use it up. Mostly make a pumpkin crunch recipe out of it, and it is baked for about an hour. No problems so far. Sweetened condensed milk will get a little dark and much thicker, but smells and taste ok. I use it in desserts too and no problem. I am old enough to well remember when nothing canned had any dates on it, and I am still here have made it all these years. We actually laughed
  22. We eat them up as soon as we can. Most of those date are not an "order" just a time frame figured out by the manufacturer or maybe the govt. I won't use a badly dented can, or one that is swelled up or that smells or looks strange when open. I think there are various posts on this site about that. We also used out of date meds, after I have read up on them. If aspirin goes bad it smells like vinegar when opened, some slowly lose potency. Look up the government study on meds because they had so many old drugs stored in case of war. I think they determined that CIPRO last almost "fore
  23. Our cheapest stations have been around $2.09 for a while, this week-up to $2.19. Most everything is up.
  24. Life gets pretty rough sometimes, hang on Dee.
  25. I may be ahead of all of you, turned 72 in March. I still can do anything I want, except I don't want as much, as often. Some things are just not important, or I know my limitations.
