I'm so excited! I've been reading up on the Native American way of planting the Three Sisters-- Corn, Beans and Squash. It is really something how these three plants not only work together to improve each other's growing ability, but work together nutritionally when you eat them. The Three Sisters garden sustained Native American life for many years and even helped the pilgrims. If it can sustain life for them, I think it's well worth looking into for the tough times coming ahead. My husband is Blackfoot Tribe....I thought he would be so proud of me planting this way, but he is so funny! He poked fun at me and made jokes about "who are these three women?" He likes to joke like that; he makes me laugh!
I will start the planting tomorrow. I can't wait!
