  1. Oh reci, I am so sorry to hear about the accident and the loss of your friend as well. If there is anything I can do, even just be an ear to chew on you know how to reach me, day or night. I am praying at this very moment for your dear family members, and also for your friend... I'm sending up words to also comfort you in your loss and that you may gather strength within while your family members are recovering from this accident. Please call me if you need to talk hun... Twi
  2. Oh Snow... keeping my fingers and toes crossed that both you and the grandson win ribbons! I won't be entering any country fairs this year, but am in hopes of entering one next year. I will probably enter some quilts and canning, maybe a few homemade pies and some bread too. In the past I have won ribbons for my canning, Cody's crib quilt, and a X-stitch picture that I made. I am always amazed at the talent and ingenuity of the men, women and especially the children that enter their crafts and hobbies in the fairs... I also learned a few secret tips for the canning division of the county fairs... If you can something and they dont have a division for it... they have to make one. I've done this with several of my canned items such as canned bacon, spiced cinnamon cucumbers, canned pork, etc and they always made a division for them... The judges always look for the extrodinay items also, I have entered home canned OJ and pineapple chunks and they all came back winners!
  3. I stood on the shoreline, this past weekend, the surf gently washing over my bare feet, searching the horizon for the sunrise... Oh how you loved the ocean and everything about it. I could hear your voice softly whispering in my ear , "Come on Sis, you're a survivor, stop feeling sorry for yourself." You are never far from my mind dear friend... and I miss you so very very much.It seems like only yesterday that you put your loving arms around me at Da Party and said, "Hi twi, I'm your big brother ed." Oh the mischief that we all got into... dancing, laughing, joking, cake fights, silly pranks that we played on each other. I wouldnt have missed that weekend for anything. Thank you Lord for letting Ed be a part of my life and the lives of so many here at Mrs.S. You are missed Big Brother, and I will always carry you in my heart and memory. Twi.
  4. Lookie, lookie! MM found my dogtag! aint it pretty????????????
  5. WTG lowie, I havent even started on mine yet.... tooooo many UFO's here already and I'm working on a quilt top that I owe another lady here at Mrs.S. I did get Stetsons youth bed quilt tied off and finished and Cody's football blankie is quited, and needs to have the sashing sewn on the edges to finish it..... Hopefully by autum I will be able to work on my Charm Quilt. I plan to cut out a set of blocks from myself to match the ones that everyone else got so that I can make a full-sized quilt for myself... will add plain squares in between the MrsS. exchange charms to increase the quilt to the desired size that I want, then add a solid side sashing to match it... I think it will look wonderful as one of the quilts for my bed!
  6. Apache County is so sparsely populated that the fair is a big thing there... the 4-H and homemakers , and ranchers wives really get involved in it. The canning and baking and sewing sections are filled to capacity every year back home and the craft sections are full too. they have a big rodeo at that time too and usually a reasonably priced carnival comes to the fair also and hires locals to help run it, which provided extra income for alot of the young adults and older teens in the area.
  7. You go girlfriend! I haven't entered a County Fair since 1999, but it was so much fun. I won 18 ribbons for my canning , and a ribbon for a crib quilt that I made. Hope ya place with ribbons on your entries! luv ya Twi

    New TAG game

Aww reci, you are a keeper in the friend department here... you go out of your way to keep all of us informed on very important events as well as freebies and money savers.. You're a scrapper too and one of these days we're gonna put our heads together and really get into some ornery trouble here... I'm afraid I have to tag two people also.. one is Westbrook, where would we be without her humor, her sense of adventure and her posts. The second person is Diinmi.... we have been friends for so long she is like a sister to me.. in fact I think we started out fighting here on mrs S. and then moved on to caring and sharing our joys and our pains .. SOOOOO TAG U 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. The Munchkin came home the other day from his exploration of the neighborhood with his new little friend Davie... he came rushing into the house and very seriousely asked me.. "Honey, is it true Jesus died in Boonton?" When I asked him where he got that idea, he told me he and Davie had been looking at the headstones in the cemetery a half a block from the house and there was one of statue of a beautiful lady holding another statue of Jesus dead. I tried to explain that it was a headstone that someone had loveingly placed on their loved ones grave, but he looked at me so seriousely and asked. "You sure Jesus didnt die in Boonton?" I had to explain to him that Jesus died on a cross on Calvery, but he just shook his head, as he walked away and muttered. " I think you're wrong honey, I think Jesus died in Boonton." I had to go into the bathroom , close the door, & turn on the shower so's he didn't hear me laughing.

  16. Leeeeseeeeeeee what did I do yesterday.. got up and fixed lunches for TheGiant and The Munchkin, got The Giant off to work and took the Munchkin to school. Came home, sat down and had a nice hot cup of coffee, a piece of toast and a pain pill.... have a wisdom tooth that is wreaking havoc right now. Then I cleaned the house, washed 3 loads of clothes, drove 15 miles to where TheGiant works and picked up his wonderful..(cough cough, sputter sputter) DD who told her father she was moving back home "again". LOL she went out last night and didnt come back again! Watched a little tv and then took another pain pill and went to bed....
