Thanks for the great info and recipe Kathy. We live in the desert in Southern California. Probably trout would be the closet thing we have from the mountains. I just don't want to catch them and clean them! Ha! Ha! I can deal with them once they are dead though! I am such a wimp!

LOL MM and Spitfire!!! You two girls behave yourselves before I tell mom!!!! I am looking out my window and I see the new housing tract that they built this year. Prior to that we had a beautiful view of the mountains, a huge field across from us that was 3 blocks wide and even deeper than that. Now....I see lots of cars driving by my house. Okay, let's look closer to home...the roses are beautiful in my yard. They are still blooming. Matter of fact, one of the rose bushes I planted in memory of my mom just bloomed for the first time a few days ago with the most beautiful red rose. The grass is green and so soft to walk barefoot on. The broccoli plants are growing strong....I just love my little piece of property that I can enjoy! It's not quite all the beauty where you all live....but I need to be content with what God has given me. I am blessed!

Well I haven't counted my miles before...so I am thinking back to last week, and I think I had about 9 miles. Oh, this is effective when thinking you were pretty active, but finding you aren't! What a rude awakening! Time to get back on the treadmill or go swim some laps....if the water isn't too cold.

The West Coast posting has been a little slow! How are all of you doing? Hey, have any of you visited Hearst Castle before? We visted there on vacation. I didn't care as much about the buildings, although the things that Mr. Hearst bought from all over the world were beautiful, I cared more about the garden and the land they owned. The Hearst Family still own the surrounding land, hills, etc. They don't even do anything with it. They have orchards,etc. Oh would I love to live on that land....but in a smaller house, not the mansion...orchards, rose gardens, cattle roaming the fields, what a beautiful site!

I want to start cooking more fish since it is so healthy....BUT, I am not so good at it. Do you have any easy recipes to share? I prefer MILD tasting fish. What mild tasting fish do you like?

Debbielee~ I have always hated looking stupid! I remember in school I wouldn't ask questions because I thought I was supposed to know it and something was wrong with me. So, I guess I have decided to make up for lost time! Ha! Ha! And no, I am not blond......

Doesn't it feel good when people notice!!! My MIL was here yesterday and was amazed at how good my hubby is looking as he has lost weight and she looked at me and said, wow, you have lost a lot of weight too! I needed to hear that because I wasn't looking at how much I lost, but how far I have to go. It's nice to get a boost!

All this Christmas talk....I am getting anxious to watch a Christmas Movie. We usually start watching them in November. My favorite movie is "White Christmas." My hubby likes "A Christmas Story." After almost 5 years of marriage, that movie is starting to grow on me. We have practically every Christmas movie on video. Miracle on 34th street (new and old version), Santa Claus, It's a Wonderful Life....oh, I can't wait to start watching them!

"I'm dreaming of a White Christmas"....I couldn't help myself! Maybe if I start to listen to Christmas music we can get snow too! We love the snow, but we live in a desert area that may get a little snow 1-2 times a year. They close all the schools if there is an inch on the ground! LOL!!!!!! It's a good idea though, because people around here don't know how to drive in the snow. One year, I was sent home early from work due to the snow. I was driving nice and slow, and next thing I know, this car is skidding right towards me. It stopped within a foot of my car. It was a teenage boy, and he looked terrified. I thought for sure he would hit me. I hope you enjoy the flurries! Have a nice warm cup of tea for me and take in the beauty!

I came here, hoping for a lift....no one is posting on "The Gym." Hmmmm....what is everyone up to? I ate TERRIBLE on vacation this past week. We started off trying to be good....but ended up saying...we are on vacation... So, today I am trying to get back on track. I gained a few "vacation" pounds...so I need to get those off quickly. How are all of you doing? Or...is the silence "screaming" something! Ha! Ha!
