  1. Oh I just love to talk about my "babies." Holly was the first puppy we got. She was 6 weeks old...she turns 4 in October. She is part German Shepherd and part black lab. She has lots and lots of energy. She races along the fence with the dog next door.....and always beats him I might add. She loves to play ball, chew things, and most importantly thinks all company is coming to visit her. When we let her in the house at night she runs to our bedroom, jumps on the bed and lays down with her head on the pillow. She thinks if she lays quietly we won't kick her out into the garage for the night. It doesn't work Jacob is our sweet dog. We adopted him when he was 9 months old. He is part hound and part lab. He is a mama's boy! He also loves company. He is allergic to corn and so he gets ear infections if we accidently feed him the wrong treat. He is so easy going and when he is in the house he stays right by mama's side! He would protect me from anyone. The last dog we have is Rascal. She was my parents dog, and when my mom passed away in March we had to get rid of their three dogs. My Grandma took one, my cousin took one and we took Rascal. She is so precious! She is 8 years old next month. My parents adopted her from the shelter when she was one. They wanted an older dog so that they didn't have to deal with the puppy stage. The only problem....she was pregnant (and they didn't know it) and she had 10 puppies! Oh boy! She was a wonderful mother to her puppies and is very protective. She sleeps by my side of the bed until I go to sleep at night. She usually sleep by the door. She loves kids and my husband gets jealous because she seems to favor me. My dad just said that she is so bonded to me that when I left her one day this past week to run a quick errand, she wouldn't have a thing to do with him (even though he had food) and waited at the door for me. She guards food like crazy and has had a few fights with Holly over it. We have a 3 dog limit in our city....which is good or I would adopt every dog I see!

    Uh oh....

Nobody has been posting in here!!!! I hope that doesn't mean we are "cheating" on our diets and escaping our exercise! Actually, I have been doing well on my diet. So far, I have lost 32 lbs.....and many, many, many, many more to go. I haven't been able to swim this week or even walk on the treadmill. I get up at 4:30 a.m. and start my day trying to get everything done and usually don't stop until about 9-10 p.m. Well...I guess I could be walking on the treadmill right now...but that wouldn't be as much fun as saying Hi to all of you! Hang in there....eat for your health....exercise for your strength...and have fun..fun..fun! Happy weekend!
  6. Okay, to most of you who do everything so well and are so creative this may not seem like a big deal. BUT, I made my niece pajamas for her birthday Sunday. She loves Tweety Bird, so I hunted down some TB material and a pattern. You may be thinking.....so what's the big deal... I haven't sewn in 18 years! It was so much fun....I just hope she likes it! Hmmmmm.....what am I going to sew next! I feel so accomplished!
  7. Hugs....Ed, Peg and FIL! Still praying!
  8. Hee! Hee! Hee! Debbielee, your post made me laugh!!!! It seems everyone is busy these days. I have been continueing to organize and clean my dad's house for him, and when I am home I am trying to finish re-organizing mine and getting rid of things that I haven't used, etc. Wow...who has time to sleep....post....or anything! My dad is a truck driver and is gone for a month or two at a time. He came home Wednesday, so I usually end up over there visiting him when he is home for the few days he gets off. My dad gave my hubby and I his old pickup and so we are in the process of getting it worked on, cleaning it up and replacing the interior as the sun caused everything to fall apart. So, that is where I have been....unfortunately that means I have been so busy that I don't have time to get into any trouble!

  21. My fall planning: Go to Oak Glen and buy lots of apples, make some applesauce, start Christmas gifts (I am making some for my dad to give away as well), fall cleaning, hmmm...I never thought about planting a fall garden. What kinds of things do YOU plant for fall? After I get caught up on some filing, record keeping, etc. for my dad I hope to sit down and start a quilt.
  22. Ginger: ((((((hugs)))))) I know when I lost my mom in March it kind of messed up my eating for a while too! For me it takes a lot of concentration, time and effort to eat right and exercise. So when other things are happening it kind of falls by the wayside. I know you will be able to get back on track soon, but for now, just rest in the arms of God! Dee: You go girl! You can do it! You are an inspiration you know!
  23. I collect: Dreamsicle Angels Tea cups and saucers and some tea pots. thimbles (this was my mom's collection she had started)
  24. Thanks for that link to crockpot recipes! I have been looking for some more recipes. Sorry, I dont' have the chicken stew recipe you want! But, when you get it, will you share it?
