My buck went to my friend's farm to board for now. Just in time. The doelings were nearly all in heat today.

Yes, I have canned in only water with no syrup when I had a super abundance of apples and not enough sugar. Try putting a scant tsp of non-iodized salt in each qt when you can so the fruit will be firmer.

I got 10 # of organic carrots today. Going to dry most for my trip, though we are going to eat some cooked. Neither of us chews them well enough to eat raw anyhow. I was at the salvage food store and the owner asked if I wanted 10 cans of green beans for $10? #10 cans! So I'm going to dry some of that for my trek. The rest will go into meals for daughter. Bought some diced, frozen okra and frozen sweet corn to dry for my trek too and I want to dry some sweet potatoes.

Not much new here. Same battles, different day. Listened to a sermon on Jehosophat's battle that was comforting and uplifting.Don't know how we managed before we had online sermons to listen to. They really help me. Wish I could go to church though. I miss the fellowship.

Just think how few days you have till Christmas and all the gifts you need to get made. HURRY!

Startle is NOT good! Wish I could time out those Pyrs when they get under my window to bark. Going to have to put fence back up so they can't reach. Stole the cattle panels to make a pig pen though.

LOL, at least I will get it over with early in the yr. I will probably sell off the kids though. I can't leave bottle babies with a farm sitter. Still have to find someone to take the milking does while I'm gone.

My buck has been very busy and has the 7 sr does bred for mid Jan kidding. I've decided to forgo breeding the doelings this yr since they won't be old enough in time to kid before I plan to start my trek next spring. Maynard will be going home with my friend Lisa next week and won't come back here. If she can't board him till I get moved or return from the trek I'll sell him. He is the father of all 8 doelings so really didn't want to use him on them anyhow and don't want two bucks here since it is so hard to keep a fence up and intact. 7 does kidding is a plenty anyhow.

Its probably cooler than here! 108 today.

Mom11, you should NOT feel guilty! That is your living! They don't bring over part of their paycheck so why should you give them part of yours?

Mom11, I've been thinking about you all day. It grieves me that anybody would have the unmitigated gall to take anything from you and those precious children! God calls it encroaching on the fields of the fatherless and He will repay those that do such things! I hope the Lord blesses you with an abundance to care for your chicks.

I just dehydrated 30# of blueberries to use in baked goods. Probably use most in mixes to cook on the trek next yr.

Daughter cannot eat much meat from the grocery either because they use 'broth' which frequently has gluten and usually msg and other nasties. I only feed her meat that I produced and processed.

I had to quit buying canned beans for daughter because they had gluten in them. That is when I started canning the dried beans myself.
