Now I feel something crawling on me, thanks.

Desert soil is nearly always alkaline, sometimes toxically so. Get it tested. Soil sulfur will lower pH.

Found my grandmother's grave with her maiden name misspelled by whoever took the info from the stone. I was actually searching for someone else when I found the grave info, NOT in the town where she lived after her marriage, where daddy was raised and I was born, but in another small town some ways south of there.
Also be aware that the name you knew someone by might be a middle name or even a nickname. I knew daddy's father by Ernest but that was his middle name. Oddly, for all these yrs I overlooked the evidence on my own birth certificate that said the info was given by Mrs William K*****. William was his first name.
Still looking for several people who are not on the SSDI. Granny Willie is not listed nor is Grandpa Ernest. She died in 56, but I don't know when he died, just that he was still alive in 66 when we moved to alaska.

Just make absolutely sure that only clean utensils are dipped in the mayo. You should anyhow, even if it is kept refrigerated. Don't let the kids or menfolk lick the knife then put it into the jar!
We lived several yrs without a fridge. It is doable if you don't live in a very hot climate. In Colorado things kept edible MUCH longer than they do here in south Texas. Here, you get mold on things overnight.

I remember someone getting chagas in Mississippi many years ago when I was young. I also remember my grandfather being hospitalized with Typhus in MS (around 1962 IIRC). He was drinking heavily at the time and not taking care of himself. (He later got right with the Lord and quit the drink.) Body and head lice are still a problem in all our public schools.
I remember reading how the mule drivers in the western states would take their clothes off and place them on ant hills overnight so the ants would eat all the nits.
Bed bugs are still a problem and they carry disease.
Food borne illness is a continuing problem now. Might not be a bad idea to keep activated charcoal in your personal kit that you carry at all times.
Many diseases were only recently brought under control by having strict regs on septic systems. Waterborne disease will be rampant when sewage treatment plants fall by the wayside. It is a good idea to get used to drinking on boiled water. The reason the Chinese were so popular for building the railroads is that they only drank hot tea and didn't get the diarrheal diseases that decimated the rest of the crews.
I'm not overly fond of vaccines, however, I do think that it would be wise to make sure yours are up to date before the coming collapse.

Just avoid shaking hands with anybody and be close to OCD about handwashing. Make it a habit to wash your hands before touching your face or privates, especially if you have been around anybody who might possibly be ill. Also don't eat in restaurants, at all, ever. Cheaper to buy sandwich fixings at the grocery if you are out at mealtime. Be sure to wash your hand before preparing food or eating.

At least one person they've been monitoring because of close contact to an infected individual has developed antibodies without getting sick. Very likely most of the people who are exposed never develop illness but will produce antibodies. When they talk about a high death rate with a new illness, it is most likely that many, many are exposed, but don't get sick enough to seek medical care. It is really misleading to say that a certain % die that 'get' the disease. They should rather say that a certain % that are sick enough to seek medical care die. That will be a smaller % overall of the sick and even smaller % of those exposed.

Hi hon, hope things keep moving in the right direction for you. I'll be praying for your husband to be healed.

I posted the site to buy charcoal.
I've never stocked syrup of ipecac. Easy enough to run your finger down a child's throat and make them throw up if that is what is indicated. Make sure that whatever they have down there won't cause more damage being thrown up than staying put and giving the charcoal.

Thanks, Daylily. No, Seale never was very big.
Mt Rider I'd toss both. http://www.buyactivatedcharcoal.com/

I expect 'my' Mrs Thrash is in her 80s too. That was 50 yrs ago and she seemed a bit young to me, compared to a lot of the teachers. She was sweet and pretty and we all liked her.

The Thrashes' book is really good.
(Side note, they are from Seale AL and when I was in 6th grade in Seale, Mrs Thrash was my teacher! Not the same Mrs Thrash of course, but I suppose the husbands are related.)

Not too sure burnt food would work! LOL

Mt Rider, if you are unsure about it, spread it out in a pan and put it in the oven to bake. That reactivates it. Not sure how long you need, but probably a hot oven for 10-15 min.

Heaping teaspoon is what I use too. Ditto on the water.
Dose really depends on what you are fighting. Most things you will need to repeat the dose every hour or two. Take plenty of vitamin C at the same time. I start with about 10 grams of Vit C. It detoxes and helps move the charcoal thru your system.

Good for snake or spider bite too.

I've shot a few but wasnt hungry enough to try to eat them. They love to get into my pond and eat baby ducks and goslings.

The sugar helps reduce swelling.

1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp sugar per qt of water for the neti pot. It does help.

Well they make good lining for curtains. LOL I had a microfibre towel that came with something else and I could not stand to touch the thing.
-
We are moving to SE Missouri, Lord willing and the economy doesn't collapse or something. We'll be a lot closer, but won't promise to come till I see how things go.
-
Microfiber is horrid. I bought some sheets online that said something about egyptian cotton but were so cheap that I really didn't expect cotton. I got them to line window quilts though, not to sleep on. When I did the flame test the material melted so I know it is polyester.

Google wouldn't let me access some video I wanted to watch and said I needed to change passwords if it was me. I didn't want to watch that video enough to bother. Probably has nothing to do with this virus. It was several days ago.

Bobby B's wife is named Karla, I believe. They live in TX. He posted in an adoption thread on HT.

Mt Rider, if grown in a greenhouse like the high tunnel mentioned, the water requirements will decrease. Might even work in an arid region. I read somewhere that plants in a greenhouse require 1/10 the water of plants in an open garden. Can't remember where I read it.
