  1. Moving in a 30X80 log home to the farm and beginning in a new life.
  2. LOL, you were in a real "jam" there WormGuy. Strawberry preserves are my favorite. Those and fig preserves. Like L-60 I have lots of jars. Have been buying extra lids for several yrs-whew, didn't know I had so many till I started trying to get them into one place. I am soooo unorganized. Need a secretary to keep me straight-lol.
  3. Hi Ladybug 60, My friend. So good to see you here. You will find that these gals are not wimps but real survivalists and serious preppers. Pioneers if you would like to call them that. I have been impressed with the depth of their knowledge and intensity of preparing for their families needs. LOL, they would fit right into our little gathering clan's activities and be able to teach us lots of things. Babbling on-- ramble around the site. Lots and lots to glean but don't just be a lurker-jump right in. See you on the cyber waves till April--yahoo.
  4. Hi "60", glad to see you on "this side of the hedge". These ladies will wear you out with their boundless knowledge of and about things. They just do not know how to cook chittlins properly-LOL, wc
  5. Sounds good to me After reading this you will think that I have really lost it. However, this is a true story. In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people there was this Doctor that visited the many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu. Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it and many died. The Doctor came upon this one farmer and to his surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the Doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home, (probably only two rooms back then). The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion. It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy. Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser in AZ. She said that several years ago many of her employees were coming down with the flu and so were many of her customers. The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her shop.. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work. (And no, she is not in the onion business.) The moral of the story is, buy some onions and place them in bowls around your home. If you work at a desk, place one or two in your office or under your desk or even on top somewhere. Try it and see what happens. We did it last year and we never got the flu. If this helps you and your loved ones from getting sick, all the better. If you do get the flu, it just might be a mild case. Whatever, what have you to lose? Just a few bucks on some onions!
  6. Last week it was garden planting. This week he will be swapping an engine for his car. He is going to do the wrench turning. Afterwards we will put in a stereo and plush up the interior a bit. wc
  7. Being a guy, I am not as sensitive to my hair's condition as a lady. Some folks use plain beer to rinse their hair with, some mix up egg whites and just rinse with plain water. My hair is reasonably short and I don't use soap but maybe once a month. I do wash, scrub, and rinse it in very warm water. My hair stays soft and managable. When I use soap it dries out and sticks straight up for a few days. People wash their hair too often IMO. Unless you have an oily scalp/hair just a hot water wash/rinse might be the way to go. My wife has very oily hair and sometimes washes it twice a day. Being naturally curly makes it pretty even when dry. wc
  8. Used florescent green to mark my tools and finally in desperation have gone to hot pink. Looks a bit funky but no one wants them in their tool box. Power tools get raised eyebrows but I can find them--even at night-lol, wc

    Ephesians 2:8-10

Sister, you are quite the studious person. So many cannot grasp the concept that God is LOVE--pure and simple. That He loves us unconditionally and totally. That He completely forgives our sins upon our true repentance and asking. Our finite minds cannot concieve of total forgetfulness of transgressions--but God can and does. "He throws our sins into the sea of forgetfulness" "as far as the East is from the West". Paul also wrote to the churchs that faith will generate works - not the opposite. "Only those things done for the growth of the kingdom will last" We will be judged for what we do here and what we have done with our gifts(Bema judgement)but they will not affect our destination. God's love does that for His followers. wc
