Gosh you all.. I saw this forum this morning and automatically thought yippeeeeeeee.. I started looking for a new chapter.. Usually we don't get comments here unless a new chapter has been submitted! urgh..
Ok Ok 5th.............
I make turtles too only I do it real lazy like...
Store bought caramels
Pecans
Hersheys Kisses
Put the caramels on a oiled cookie sheet in the oven for a few minutes.. Then the kisses as they get warm place a pecan on top and press it into the chocolate.. Your done!
We call them sodies.. But most of the time we are being stupid.. Other than that.... When I want dh to get me something from the store I call it by name.. Like Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, "Dew"........When we go out to eat I will ask if they have Pepsi or Coke products. Then I know which drink to ask for.. I'll take a double Dew on the rocks please!!! I am curious as to why this is on the Sunporch?
Looks like I am going to get out of it.... Sis is having it at her house this year.. All I have to do is this..
Sweet Potatoes
Cranberry Relish
Potato Salad
Rolls
Butter
Pecan Pie
Corn
Cake
I'll probably try to make it from memory.. I remember a bowl full of bread... 2-3 eggs, sauted onions celery in butter, poulty seasoning, a litte sage and enough broth to moisten.. Sometimes she'd put yucky yucky yucky oysters in it..
I'll probably do something without cornbread.. I really wish I would have written this stuff down while my mom was still alive.. So folks if your Mom and Dad are still alive or your Grandma I advise to write down their favorite recipes that you love and cherish every holiday!
Let's see.......
Turkey
Sage Dressing
Potato Salad (because BIL said so)
Greenbean Casserole (a given)
Noodles (neice wants)
Mashed Potatoes (lumpy of course)and gravy
Olive and Pickle Wraps
Pumpkin, Apple and Pecan Pies (with coolwhip)
Cranberry Salad (because I like it)
Crescent Rolls
Hot Rolls
Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Tea and MOUNTAIN DEW!
Oh yeah and a chocolate Birthday cake.. DH turns 38 Thanksgiving Day this year!
Nope not yet! The neighbor and I are going to do it together.. Hopefully sometime soon. If I get it done this week it will be ready by Christmas to give as gifts if it turns out right!
Yeah Lard is all I have..... Guess I could skip the FO...
OK oh experienced one...... I know I should just try this on my own... But where do I start? I know you have posted many links on the subject but I wanna know what YOU do..
OK I have the lard, I have the lye, I have the rubber gloves, I have the wooden spoon, I have a stainless steel soup pot to make it in..... Now what????? I don't have any FO's... I do have orange extract rum extract peppermint and the like.. Can those be used?
Here is a great website that will give you information State by State on the Laws For Homeschooling..
http://www.hslda.org/
I would advise anyone seriously considering homeschooling their Child/Children to check out this site first. I myself have never belonged to HSLDA because Illinois is one of the easiest states to homeschool in..
As a second step I would find and contact a local homeschool support group.. Check with your public library. If you belong to a church talk with other members who might homeschool.. There are some great programs out there if your willing to search them out..
Oh my gosh there are so many WONDERFUL sites on the internet that have to do with homeschooling.. Go to www.google.com and do a search on homeschool.. The response is awesome..
Ebay is a great source of used curriculum.. (here I go getting myself in trouble with ebay again)
I'll post some of my most favorite Homeschooling Sites later on this morning.. I have been up all night (because I am a moron) and now I can't go to sleep for at least 5 more hours.. I'll have to take a nap after 7:45 when the last of the children leave for school..
