  1. I almost forgot to post. I only needed one can of black beans for a Mexican recipe so went ahead and canned up 11 extra pints for the pantry.
  2. I forgot to tag this post to receive any questions. See Mother's response. I did have another vet tell me when the Covid had just started that there was a Covid vaccine for dogs that's used regularly on them. It's not like the gene therapy that we're receiving.
  3. DH is in a bible study with a vet. He asked him this week if the story about the new rabbit virus at the MSM sites is really true. The vet said yes. It appears the virus kills both wild and domestic rabbits. The rabbits die within two days of contracting the virus. It's currently down South and heading North. He said that the next problem will be the starving coyotes. He mentioned the food chain and the danger to the dogs and cats. Hungry coyotes need their food too.
  4. Sometimes the heating pads will only reset so many times. I've been able to pull the plug out of the wall and reset the obstinate thingie. All of mine do that now days.
  5. I 'share' my photos to my email account in Outlook. DH uses the cord between the computer and phone. I haven't mastered that yet as I seldom use my phone camera.
  6. I hope my jealousy isn't sticking out too much.
  7. Eat right, get plenty of rest, de-stress your life, lose those last 50 pounds, exercise regularly, get more Vitamin D than you think you need (get more fresh outside air than you think you need), and load up on Zinc too. Keep that immune system running in top form. That's what we do. Now that we're retired, we don't enter into the germ world quite as often, except for church functions. I LOVE ordering everything online. I'm thankful I don't have to work with all those engineers who felt they HAD to come to work even when they were sick.
  8. We used to live in Scotland. That's the weather most of the time. Welcome back, survivor.
  9. We had the ice storm and then 4" of snow. It's fun on the roads today.
  10. I thought the same thing.
  11. One of my friends at church mentioned niacin yesterday. She just started going to a homeopathic doctor in the big city. So is another nurse friend from church.
  12. Thanks MM. DH went with the bp and cholesterol drugs years ago after a blood-clot got stuck in an artery that decreased flow to the heart and caused a heart cramp. At first they thought it was a heart attack. It turned out that the clot came from an arm surgery weeks before. I always thought he lost so much of his memory because of those drugs, but I was laughed at. He is the typical patient who is willing to add more meds so that he can keep his lifestyle intact. I have chosen not to take the two drugs prescribed in September. My bp stays low and cholesterol is normal. All the other docs are wondering who the hospital cardiologists wanted to put me on them.
  13. Walmart.com has been doing the same thing to me. They charge the credit card, and then cancel the order, or parts of the order. It's so hard for me to follow because I order a lot to get the free shipping, and they can cancel the same, or different products the next time around.
  14. My exact words this week. I chose this last Monday to be my official day of 'retirement'. I had three speaking engagements this past weekend which almost put me over the edge. With those time-gobbling prepping monsters behind me, I have chosen not to take on anything more in the months to come. We'll see how long that works. When I saw a picture of me standing with the other weekend presenters, I was shocked how much I have aged these past 2 years caring for mama. It was a reality check that I wasn't prepared for. (losing so much weight didn't help in the 'wrinkle' arena either ). Alas, It's time to roll up the sleeves and begin taming the paperwork monster that made its way into my home, unannounced. Thankfully, we were able to get our 2020 taxes completed last week. Our CPA is a blessing, and there was no penalty as we didn't owe anything. Then it's onto dumping all the clutter back to charity shops so we can walk around this place once again, in freedom. I had started a wonderful weekly menu last year, but that went out the window when mama's dietary needs changed so dramatically. Boy, I could sleep for a week just looking at all that needs to be done around here. Alas, just eat the elephant one bite at a time.
  15. Seven more boosters, and we'll have flattened the curve.
  16. Doctors and parents have become the marketing arm of big pharma whether or not they realize it.
  17. I blanched them first. I'll see how they reconstitute. I do have Egyptian Walking Onions but have never dried them. Thanks for the tip. What machine do you use to powder your products?
  18. Just pulled a jar-full of chopped celery out of the dehydrator this morning. We were gifted with about ten packages of celery sticks yesterday. Each one was 1.25 pounds. Not much left of them when the H2O is removed. SIL is coming over today and we're processing about 15 heads of cabbage into freezer slaw, dehydrator, and sauerkraut. I sure love my SIL. We've become even closer since my brother died 6 years ago. She makes up for not having a real sis in life. And, she lives close. Her second hubby is a real gem too.
  19. It looks like a cross-pollination of several varieties. Blame the bees and the squash varieties being too close to each other.
  20. Our neighbor stopped over this morning while we were still in our PJ's and drinking coffee. He gave us some 6x6 timbers to cut up and use for 'cribbing'. I remember that cranes used it when they arrived to our job-site, and the soil was a bit soft. We are trading him some dimensional lumber for several of our large pine trees. He's building a log home and wants logs close to home. DH will cut up the timbers and jack up the semi-trailer with three sets of them. I think he still has to buy one more hydraulic jack, but they always come in handy around the homestead. Once the 55' long trailer is up on the cribbing, we will torch off the running frame with the axles and discard them. I'm not sure how he's planning on getting the trailer box back down onto the uneven ground. No doubt, he's been dreaming about it at night and already has the answer. That's how his mind works.
  21. Here is a good place to start on your personal research. https://lcaction.org/vaccine Liberty Counsel has numerous lawsuits pending against forced vacs of federal employees. They receive thousands of phone calls and emails every day from military, police, private citizens working for large companies, and churches. They currently have pending litigation from the district level all the way up to the Supreme Court level. I think you will like them.
  22. I was talking to my Specialty Pharmacist this week about an autoimmune drug I recently started. She was so sweet at the end and wanted to remind me that she wasn't pestering or badgering me about taking the 'vaccine', then went into her spiel. At the end, I reminded her that none of the jabs were 'approved' yet, only 'authorized'. She disagreed and told me that the Pfizer shot was approved. I disagreed and mentioned that the 'approved' Pfizer shot was not available in the USA yet. There was silence at the other end of the phone. Even medical personnel can be misled these days. Here's some of the legal explanation from Liberty Counsel that's available to us when we're confronted by others: FDA Does a Bait and Switch with COVID Shots Aug 27, 2021 WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has done a bait and switch by announcing it approved its “first COVID-19 vaccine” in order to push the “vaccine” mandates and protect the Pfizer pharmaceutical company from legal liability. However, there is currently no fully licensed COVID shot on the United States market. Albeit confusing, and probably intentionally so, this summarizes the current status of the Pfizer-BioNTech shots: All existing Pfizer vials (in the hundreds of millions), remain under the federal Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) (meaning people have the “option to accept or refuse”); The third or “booster” Pfizer shot is identical to the above and remains under the EUA with limited use to certain categories of people; BioNTech received FDA approval for people ages 16 and above under the name Comirnaty, but there are no Comirnaty doses available in the United States; In other words, there is currently NO FDA approved COVID-19 injection available anywhere in the United States. Every COVID shot in America remains under the EUA law and thus people have the “option to accept or refuse” them; and Even when an FDA approved COVID shot becomes available, individuals are protected by federal law and many states laws from being forced to get these shots based on their sincere religious beliefs or conscience rights. On August 23, the FDA issued two separate letters for two separate injections. There are now two legally distinct (Pfizer vs. BioNTech), but otherwise identical products. The first letter is regarding FDA’s biologics license application approval for the Pfizer Inc/BioNTech COVID-19 injection which has been named Comirnaty. Yet Pfizer has not started manufacturing or labeling this drug for U.S. distribution, so it is not even available in the U.S. It is unclear whether or not it is protected by a liability shield, but web-based U.S. government communication indicates that the same program that provides compensation for COVID vaccine-related injuries will apply Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP) rather than the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program). At this point, there apparently has been no compensation paid to people injured by one of the COVID shots via the CICP. The Pfizer injection, on the other hand, is still considered experimental under U.S. law. There is a legal difference between products approved under authorization of emergency use (EAU) compared with those the FDA has fully licensed. The FDA issued another letter for the existing Pfizer shots which confirms they are still under EUA, are not fully approved, and has a liability shield.
  23. I read that home insurance could rise an average of $100 a year to help offset the rise in lumber prices. I know that in Madison, contractors raised the cost of house-building by $100,00 on new construction. Those people are NUTS to buy into that.
