I grew up eating fried cornmeal mush and my mouth still waters for it...now I make mush in a pie pan, chill it, cut it into wedges and either grill it (brushed with oil), eat it with Parmesan cheese, or as a base for chicken cacciatore or some kind of tomato-bases Italian sauce, maybe with Italian sausage.
It's heaven.
We also put pinto beans in the crockpot on low every night after dinner (after soaking them all day and then draining off the soaking water and adding more) with only some garlic, sage and olive oil, and they are perfect for breakfast, brunch or lunch
they're delicious made that plainly, and so good for us, too!
