  1. Quilty, Praying for answers and healing We miss you around here.
  2. I started prepping for Y2K. As it turned out DH was diagnosed with cancer in 2000 and was off work (he's a contractor) for about 9 months. Those preps came in handy. I've prepped since then. DH thinks I pretty nutty and laughs at my stash of TP Even prior to Y2K, I would have had at least a month's worth of food anyway, just brought up that way I guess. My mom used to can everything in site and keep a well stocked pantry and freezer.
  3. Congratulations and best wishes
  4. I'm late to the party, but I brought brownies.... does that make up for being late to Mrs. S.
  5. Just wanted to add that I still have lids (leftover from Y2K purchasing) and have had no problems with them. I store them in a cool dark place.
  6. Yep, just make friends with the local Mickey D's and you're set. Here is a link. http://www.diyfuel.com/

  9. Glynn, maybe you couldn't find it because I said Lands End when it was LL Bean.. Sorry LL BEAN
  10. Good morning Mommy of Six. I slept in too...6:30 which is pretty late for me. Tell me more about this Juice Plus. I need some energy too. After breakfast was done, I started baking.... meatloaf for dinner (re-heat in the microwave), pineapple upside down cake, biscuits, and baked beans. Yesterday was pretty hot here, so want to get the baking done while it is still cool outside. Now I'm off to clean the house and get things in order around here. I'm off from work until after the 4th so I have time to get some things accomplished.... Miss M if you are still lurking, yes I'll be working on your quilt too
  11. Try to find some time to relax and enjoy yourself.
  12. Quote: I don't have that one, but Lands End has one for $49.99 which is made by a very good manufacturer. You might want to take a look at it.
  13. I don't really know what to say, I'm not very good with words, but I'm sorry you are going through this.

That's great news Jo. We miss you around here.
  15. Kaye, no it isn't chemo, thank God. Thanks for the prayers though. DH has inflammatory neuritis in his feet (inflammation of the nerves) which is very painful. He is receiving intravenous immunoglobulin therapy every two weeks to hopefully cure it. The treatments take about 12 hours to infuse and will last 6 months and cost $20,000.00 per dose. Thank God for good insurance too.
  16. Good Morning everyone. I haven't been posting here for awhile, just too busy, but school is over for now, at least until August. Final exams were last week, but I was "excused" from them. Never had that happen before. Professor told six of us that because we had an A in the class, all of our assignments were turned in, and our final term papers were done, we didn't have to take the test. YIPPEE!!!! Needless to say, we were all very HAPPY. DH had another treatment this past week. Pretty rough on him this time, vomiting, headaches, etc. I talked with the pharmacist and she thinks they ran the drug too fast. I've already talked with the nurse who is in charge of his treatment so that doesn't happen again. He is feeling better despite those side effects. My niece has joined Mrs. S. but I think she must still be
