  1. I stopped buying liquid milk. I use powdered milk in everything now. There are only two of us so, liquid milk often went unfinished.
  2. Replacing part of the sugar with cinnamon is a great idea if you have a diabetic in the house.
  3. Congratulations. Be sure and name it after us.
  4. Five bucks says he hasn't given us another thought and he is sleeping like a stone..
  5. Asking again. Does anyone know if you can use a torch?
  6. It can contribute to whiskey, brandy, rum, gin and vodka according to google.
  7. I used to be married to an alcoholic. I came home one day to a kitchen full of noxious smoke, a pan with a charred mess in it due to the head of the household passing out while waiting for the eggs to boil and the aforementioned head of household waving a towel around wildly. It never occurred to him to open any windows or doors so he was coughing like mad and wiping his tearing eyes. What part of the ambiance was not smoky was colored blue from his language. I was 9 weeks pregnant and the thought of burned egg shell brought back industrial strength nausea. WHEEE!!!
  8. Try using nylon shoelaces. Also, thread a piece of dental floss and weave it through the lace with a neadle along the length of the lace. It takes a tractor to break that stuff! I sew buttons on coats and denim items with it.
  9. You are supposed to change the batteries on your birthday.

  11. Good point, Boric acid aka Borax is a good prep.
  12. Just thinking...will a torch work or is the flame too cold?
  13. I replaced the shower surround for a relative 3 years ago. It started leaking again earlier this year. The plumber told me to remove/replace the grout line around the top of the tub/bottom of the surround. The X-BIL is a big old boy. The guy in the tile dept of the hardware is a big old boy, too & advised me to replace the grout with colored caulk. It was faster, easier and it will hold up to a much heavier person than plain old caulk. I should have started with that.
  14. Half a cup of dehydrated onions and some salt.
  15. Everybody made me hungry except Lele.
  16. I hesitated to add this, because it is a sensitive subject. Sometimes the pt taking Ambien can actually have a sexual encounter and not remember it at all. Sometimes with spouses, sometimes with total strangers. I will never take it.
  17. This link explains puree. http://www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/tips-te...in-puree-033705
  18. You can make paste from sunflower seeds & add tahini to anything.
  19. When I was coming up my mom made me wear a poncho instead of a coat because she could slap it together and it was cheap. I always resented the cold arms. If you cover your arms you can't move well. Just a thought.
  20. -Grilled cheese sandwiches with peanut butter outside--tastes like those snack crackers, except warm. -I make my mac-n-cheese with powdered milk. Nobody knows so you must can't taste the difference. -Hot sauce on EVERYTHING. -Tony Cachere on mac-n-cheese or anything hot. -Refried beans in my salsa. -Mashed potato flakes soup-dilute with water or broth and canned or powdered milk, Parmesan cheese, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder. If you are rch that week you can add sour cream and shredded cheddar. -Tunafish, ranch dressing & pickles. -Grilled bratwurst sandwiches. -EVERYTHING is better with liver gravy. -Sliced apples or sliced pineapple on my cheese burger or hamburger in place of tomatoes. -Ground liver added to the meatloaf recipe.
  21. I buy pyrex pans and silicone pans from Goodwill and other second hand stores. Cotton sheets give you a lot of material for not a lot of moola (think flannel). Hydrocloric acid can be bought at a swimming pool store, yes?
