  1. unbelieveable. now I remember why I lost this bookmark lmao
  2. Yep. I use it. I use it instead of butter or margarine. I use it in some baking. Theres a website with recipes . I've noticed that my hair is more oily than normal, which compared to how dry and brittle it was, I'll take oily. I've started using it as a moisturizer lately. It soaks right in like a sponge.( at least on my dry skin) I don't know if it's the coconut oil or the diabetes medication, but I do have more energy and am starting to lose some weight.
  3. got tired of people not finishing what they started. from a non writers view point, don't post it if it ain't finished. I don't bother anymore. waste of my time
  4. I'm doing mine in 5 gallon buckets with 5-6 hole drilled in the bottom for drainage. Seems to be doing good. They're growing like heck ( must be the rabbit poop LOL). I've done filled them in where they're full to the top, so now I just have to wait for them to flower and die back. Can't wait to see what I get! I've even seen where you can use garbage BAGS and grow them.
  5. LOL, sounds like me. I'm looking for more jars and my husbands says: What! MORE?? LOL I say: Yes hun, need more. Not only can I use them for canning but also storage of dehydrated things. LOL I also told him that what did he think we would do with all the meat in the freezer if we had no way to keep it cold? I told him I'd have to can it. LOL Bless his heart! LOL
  6. Wow! Thank You MommaD! This will be my first quart , so I think when I go to the grocery store I'll get another quart. Thats the only size they have. I haven't checked at the Health Food store yet.
  7. I'm finishing up a 10 day antibiotic today and I bought a quart of Kefir in the organic section of my grocery store. I got the plain but I'll be adding strawberries to it. Doesn't Kefir have more probiotics and active cultures for your digestive track? More than regular yogurt?
  8. Yes, I would be very interested in learning in detail HOW to use the jar I bought for the homemade deodorant recipe that I have. What else do I do with it? Is that information in one of the links above? I didn't click on any right now.
  9. Thank You C4C! Guess I'll pack the old lids away and hope that someday, the Antique loves will want to buy them. LOL The box did have a box of new wide mouth lids with the paper still on the bottom side of the flat lids, so I'm hoping that they're still usable? And has anyone heard of Atlas lids? Theres a small box of regular flat lids in there. VERY old looking box. Found a quart jar that apparently came from Michael's craft store. And the jar is for crafts, so I'm guessing that it couldn't take the heat from canning? Thanx for the help!
  10. I've been out yard sale-ing and came across a box of lids and rings. Also in the box were some silver heavy lids with a white plastic feeling section in the center of the inside "dome". Can someone tell me what these lids are? There are some writing on the inside of some and I'll see what it says and let you know. I will take pictures and post them if that will help. I also found some REALLY old regular flat lids that have a grey colored ring on the inside edge instead of the red that I know. I'll take pictures of all of them so you all can see what I'm talking about. I bought a water bath canner yesterday and today I found a second one ( minus the rack) for only $5! So, now I can have 14 quarts going at one time if I want!

  13. I've done green beans, tomatoes, carrots, herbs, radishes, lettuce and peas in containers. They like to eat and they need to drink alot. You'll need to water them everyday in the hot summer months. If you do that and feed them regularly, you should have a nice crop.
  14. I think theres a few of us from the " Village" I can't remember who posted the link to here, but I'm sure glad they did! Thank You whoever you are!

  19. Myself, I've just been organizing what I already have. reading and downloading important info about homesteading and making soap and candles, etc. This will all go into a notebook for later reading. I workout 4 days a week at a gym to get stronger, lose a bunch of weight and hopefully get off a med that I take for BP.( hate that stuff).
