  1. Wow, I'm adding my prayers for you Westbrook. Pixie called me and left a message just to tell me.
  2. If y'all think these three are cute, wait 'til you see our other sister's (I think her username here is cecz) blonde princesses! They're all gorgeous. We'll probably have ugly baby boys to compensate ;-) ~Jo

    Magic Marker "Safe"

I always loose markers...not a good idea for me ;-) I used to keep $20.00 in my purse at all times (not in my wallet), just in case my credit card didn't work when I tried to pay the taxi driver at midnight after work. Unfortunately, I told my husband about it once, so he kept "needing" it. ~Jo
  4. It was a long time ago...1998 or 1999. I was bored, and web surfing. I think I was looking for things related to the Swiss Family Robinson or something. I was 15 or 16 years old but everyone welcomed me, young as I was. I've come and gone several times since then.

  6. Yay! Now I can steal them!
  7. Wow, that's great! Congratulations on the progress.
  8. I learned that when I ignore my garden, the slugs take over in the back, and the weeds take over in the front. Lavender does quite well if it needs to be ignored, as does sweet woodruff, tickseed, english box, and chives. I am going to plant more lavender next year...it makes my front garden look so nice. Clematis does not like to be ignored. I learned that if I don't trim our hedge when the neighbours (who share the hedge) are trying to sell the house, they will do it for me, which is great, but it looks a bit lopsided. Oh well, at least it got done ;-) I also learned that my yard
  9. Thank you, I needed to hear many of these. ~Jo
  10. Hmm...cats cradle...sure, now that we've finished with the whipped cream. *clumsily knocks the lid off of a suspiciously large crate* Oh, what's this? Chocolate? Pixie, I think I found someone's secret emergency stash! Shh! Mother, there was at one time 3 other members of one family...two sisters and a son. That was a long time ago though ;-) ~Jo
  11. Welcome Carmen-E! (can you hear me through the door of this closet that I'm locked in?) Glad you're here! ~Jo
  12. If Pixie goes, and I can convince Kev that you are all real people and not crazy internet stalkers, I would love to come! Really, I've "known" some of you longer than I've known him! I may or may not bring Juli. Darlene, though I don't say much lately, I've been enjoying your adventures. You are one of the strongest women I know. ~Jo

I haven't really posted much about the baby. Pixie posted an announcement and picture when Juliana was first born. Juliana was born July 5 after I was ordered into the hospital by my doctor (because I was 7 cm dilated, with no pain, and she said that the baby would just fall out). I had only 2 hours of the most intense pain of my life, and was in and out of the hospital in 24 hours. She is the first grandchild on my hubby's side, and the fifth granddaughter on my side (no boys). She's now 3.5 weeks old, and very sweet...and a bit cranky. I'm hoping that's just because she's a littl

Apparently, I missed my birthday too! Thanks everyone. I've been reading some of the posts here over the past few days...there's not much else to do when feeding a hungry baby ;-) See, I always come back eventually! ~Jo
  15. thanks for announcing pixie! and thank you everyone for the good wishes and for making me feel just as loved here even when i haven't been around in ages. juliana is sleeping, and we are waiting for the health nurse to come teach us how to get her to do that at night :-) ~jo
  16. Butter and sugar or suryp! That's what we put on the potato scones. That wouldn't work for your beans though. ~Jo

    Cold Monday

I do not have the recipe! Last time I saw it was shortly before your wedding, stuck on the front of mom's fridge! I'm sure you could find a similar recipe...It's a no-bake cheesecake. It has lemon juice in it. ~Jo
  18. Yup, I'm in Alberta. There's actually only 2 midwives in the entire city, and 2 more 30 minutes away. DH wants the baby born in a hospital with a "real" doctor...that's why I want someone like Pixie there, to boss the doctors and nurses when they try to do things I don't want (I'm terrified of epidurals and epistiotomies). Thanks again for the good wishes everyone! I did go and get myself a ticker! The baby has elbows! ~Jo

    Phew, I made it!

Pixie, Pat will have to fight it out with Kevin's mom. She has put in an order for a girl. I did tell mom. She was at Nanny's with a dead cell phone. She was quite excited, more than I thought she'd be...I mean she already has 4 grandbabies, I figured this would be old hat by now. I told Carmen, and she was really excited too. I can't find Dan's phone number though. Yes, you do have to visit me when I'm pregnant. I loved seeing you when you were here a month before Morri was born. It truly looked like you had an alien in there the way she moved around! Ideally, I want you to com

    Phew, I made it!

Thanks for all the congratulations! You all always manage to warm my heart and encourage me. Kevin just told his family, and my SIL called me here at work to congratulate me. That was a nice surprise. It seems like they are all happy for us too. ~Jo
  22. Hi. Sorry for not coming by very often. I have absolutely no excuse. I was talking to Pixie earlier, and she said that I have until she is done supper to post here, or she would announce it for me. So, here it is: I'm having a baby. Due in July. Now Pixie, you can tell everyone that you're going to be an aunty again. ~Jo
  23. Hi! I was talking to Pixie on the phone yesterday, and she told me off for not coming here as often...so here I am! I am not feeling well today. It is not fun. I am at work when I'd rather be at home sleeping. The good thing about it is that since I'm working by myself today, few people are around to see me under the weather. We had a fire alarm today. We have them quite often, but they have never ammounted to anything yet. I walked down 11 flights of stairs, which is all the exercise I've had this week. My mother's "friend" is visiting this weekend, and he's staying in our gu

I think I'm going to have to read some of those Stephanie Plum books...you all keep talking about them! I'm intrigued. ~Jo
