You all haven't realized that you need to leave Cat a note when you are going to be gone for a while. Granted the last time I was MIA, Dee left me a facebook message to check in because Cat wanted to make sure I was alright. That's why we LOVE her!!!

Awesome news Cat! DD helps with baking and some cooking. DS1 makes mac and cheese with help/supervision. I boil water, cook and drain and add noodles. He adds the milk, butter, cheese and does all the mixing. I figure, it's a great start for a 4 & 5 year old. They wanted to help make coffee, I let them push the button. No one messes with my coffee. I have a recipe for Thai chicken and pasta that has peanut butter in the sauce. It's really good and easy.

Nope! I had someone post them on pinterest and it seems like they are starting to prep, they've been canning for years. I wanted to make sure they were bad recipes before I said anything to her. Thanks!

Wow! We've been having more rain. It seems like a quick rain almost everyday. The river is a little better, the sandbar is still there but not as big. I hope you get some rain soon, but if you do will it make the fields to wet to harvest (turn under)?

Oh, Violet, what I would give for a dull moment! :bighug2:I had three questions to post for you and didn't make it here earlier and now don't remember. I'm sure I will wake up in the middle of the night and remember. LOL 3 pts of the Chunky Tomato Basil Sauce that Violet posted previously. MIL is dropping off 1/2 a bushel of apples from their trees tomorrow morning so switching gears again to make applesauce.

I made my vanilla with vodka but I drink vodka on the rare occasion. And I couldn't tell you what we might have in the house besides that. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to try a few from the last site. I wish there was one for sweet cream and one for hazelnut but that's just what I like.

Welcome fishermanwife! You can use the jar and ring but would toss the lid as it's been used. @ Andrea~ Good advice on checking the acidity of the vinegar. Never would have given it any thought.

DH reseasoned one of ours when we found it had been put away wet. I think he actually enjoyed doing it. It took hours but he was so proud of himself and it looked really good. So all is not lost on the cast iron pan or the hubby. You could always have him season it.
