  1. I am so sorry..... I've been there. To lose a pet is always hard to deal with and to add children to the equation makes it even harder. Please accept my condolences. I'm Praying for you and yours......
  2. Recently I searched the Internet for my step brother whom I hadn't seen since we were 11 and 12 years old. We are now almost 40 and 3 weeks ago I found him again. It has been a wonderful reunion but he is a 1st Sgt. in the Army and has just been deployed on his 7th tour. He has 3 kids and a wonderful wife. We are Praying for his safe returne and for his family too..... I pray for everyone in the Armed services who fight for our freedoms willingly.
  3. I was brought up with the understanding that there should be a backup plan for when the need strikes. This just seems like common sense to me. Whether it be a storm or loss of income there should be a plan B~ But until recently did I ever have to truely depend on it. I took a lot of grief for this from several people including friends and some family. Over the years I was thought of as the blacksheep because of my "Country" ways. There is a stigma that seems to be attatched to this lifestyle and it needs to be stopped in it's tracks. I was recently without work for 8 weeks due to illness. I wa
  4. I have helped potty train several boys and the best trick I have is the Magic Water~ I used a toilet bowl cleaner in my toilet that turned the water blue. When the little guy pees in the toilet the water turns green! ( yellow and blue make green) The kids love this!! When we went places I carried a small bottle of food coloring in my bag and snuck it into the water before they went. Hope this helps~
  5. Hello again~ Thank you for all the support you have posted. I believe in the power of Prayer whole heartedly.I am now 2 weeks out from surgery and am cancer free!!!! No Chemo!!! I am very slowly getting back onto my feet. It is a little frustrating but well worth the wait!! LOL!! Again, Thank you all~
  6. Hello all~ I'm sorry I havn't been here for awahile as I have been having some health concerns. I have recently been diagnosed with Cervical cancer. I am scheduled to have a Hysterectomy on the 28th of December. I am hopeful that this will get it all but am still nervous. Please wish me luck as I can use the thoughts right now......
  7. Blueberries!!! I found a bunch at a local farmer's market for 1.00 a LB. I love to put them in my cereal and oatmeal in the wintertime and they are great just to snack on when i'm out and about. I also make muffins and breads too- They keep for a long time.
  8. Hello all. I just came upon this thread and would like to add a little if I may. Just two weeks ago my hubby and I were on our way to town and happened to see a dog in a ditch just off our property. There were round bales that the neighbor had been drying in the ditch and it was caught in the bailing wire. We quickly drove to the nearest neighbor's house and asked if his American Bulldog was alright and fortunately he was as he is a wonderful dog. We went back quickly to see if it was alive and as we got there again it stood up- a Pitbull female about 9-12 months old- and very confused. M
  9. Ol Momma, Please feel the hugs passed to you- there are a lot of things to do in the next few days but take time to take care of yourself too. You are not cold- just numb right now... Take your time to grieve and make sure to talk it out. May God Bless you and keep you.....
  10. Welcome to the forum!! Hope to hear more from you- This is a great place to share ideas and make new friends in common.
  11. Hello All! Sorry I haven't been here for awahile- been super busy with the chores. This week I cut wood to use for the winter. We actually cut it last year and have been letting it cure on it's own. Now it is dry enough to cut into smaller pieces. I kinda got tired of seeing it laying on the property so I just got myself to work getting it done. I'm not real sure how much I have done yet but the blisters on my hands and a broken toe are a clear indication to stop for now!! I have also been making up lots of stews and soups for the pantry. I got a super good deal on pork roast and chicken so
  12. This is wonderful! Thank you....
  13. Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson on the same day- I am a fan of both- I Pray the best for both families- There are no words......
  14. This is a wonderful posting!! When will this be out? I can't wait to see it- I agree with you in that these Brave men and women have been through enough. They have laid their lives on the line long enough and deserve a Heros welcome home. My best to you and yours!! God Bless
