  1. Hope your birthday is extra special today!
  2. Miki So sorry you had to go through that but you did your best to give Oreo a good life. I've had to do the same it's super hard Jeepers hope the house sells fast when do you plan to list it? Mt Rider guessing you're going to get a bit of snow, my friend lives in CO and the photos of their place are impressive. Glad you are prepared to deal with it. Littlesister hope you feel better soon! We had a big thunderstorm come through tonight with a tornado warning so were in the basement for a bit, my lungs aren't too happy every time I go to the basement my asthma acts up. Porch leak is still happening it's dripping in the vesitbule but I think I may have an idea of where it's leaking now so when the repair people come next week I'm going to ask them to start with the downspout on that side and the flashing next to the upstairs porch where it meets the roof on that side. I really hope I can solve this leak it's getting old. '
  3. Yes it's really pouring out and lots of thunder and lightning, we had a tornado warning earlier tonight, still in a watch. Ohio particularly seems to be getting hit hard tonight. Ryan Hall Y'all is about the only weather station I watch anymore to get accurate info. National Weather Service alerts come through on my phone thankfully
  4. Miki so sorry about Oreo that's always a hard decision. Euphrasyne so sorry about your aunt My day today- work and take my mom to her PT/OT appointments
  5. Necie I can relate on the store issue vs ordering online. Some things though I do better seeing in person I'm a terrible judge of size online so I prefer to buy some things in person if I don't know the part number or a measurement. Themartianchick glad you're networking is paying off! Hope you get more jobs from them. Miki that sounds yummy! I made spanish rice with kielbasa sausage with peppers and onions for dinner. It was easy and tasty. Mt Rider sending best wishes for the whole situation! Littlesister sounds like you have a good plan for your house just to try it out to see if you like it sounds good. I keep doing that with my house as well. Still not set on where my "office" and craft spaces will be. I spend most of my time downstairs but don't really want the craft stuff everywhere, and do need a desk but want to be able to see the tv while I sew and work, so trying to sort that out. I could use our bedroom too, there is a tv in there for the sewing area, but I may have to settle for viewing on my laptop (sewing tutorials, etc) Not sure I want the mess in my bedroom. Area I had designated for my crafting is filled appliances right now. I managed to go through some clothes in my closet last night and decluttered a whole large box worth. So happy about that as I never wear them and they were just taking up space. Still more to do but that got a shelf cleared that I put extra bedding on that got it off the closet floor so that was good.
  6. Jeepers hope all the final fixes get done. Just put the house on the market and don't fuss over the small things it will still sell and then you can move forward with your life. I am sure it has been exhausting. Necie- glad you figured out your inventory issue. I love it when apps let me drag items where I want them. Littlesister- watching someone else's baby is tiring but glad you are getting some time with her. I hope GS gets into the Coast Guard. Mt Rider hope you feel better soon Miki we are having burgers for dinner too Today I have quilt guild going to be good for me to get out of the house I need some people time. Also going to start seeds this weekend.
  7. You all have been busy! No catching up on this thread My routines are still all getting tangled up, but gradually we're settling into a new normal whatever that is. Working too much but that's nothing new. I had wanted to get my seeds started this week but still need to set up the grow lights. Will hopefully get that done this weekend.
  8. Hope your birthday was extra special!
  9. Jeepers that is just awful I hope the insurance mess gets cleared up soon so you can move forward. Mt Rider glad you got to your appointment safely. Hope the labs give you some answers Littlesister we got a bunch of wind too, huge temperature shift here from over 70 down to 29 overnight! Miki thanks for the reminder if we ever need to change ins co's I'll remember that Necie sounds like you got the same weather shift we did. No snow here though Mommato3boys so days just getting the laundry done is enough. I feel you on the exhaustion Today I had to drive into St Louis to go to my yearly cardiology appointment. Went well but took 4 hrs. We stopped for lunch out and then I came back and worked the rest of the afternoon and some of the evening to make up my time. Tomorrow my mom establishes care with her new Dr and then has OT and PT in the afternoon. She will go twice a week for 8 wks. We are getting into a daily routine that mostly works so that's been good. I'm pretty tired though and have to keep reminding myself why
  10. Congrats on the job Mommato3boys! Wrapping things up here at my moms we have almost everything she wants to bring packed just a suitcase of her clothing left and the last minute items. I need to seal up a few boxes and then we'll be ready to head out on Friday. I am SO ready to be back in my own home and bed. I miss my family and my dogs. And I am so nervous about integrating my mom into the household but hoping it goes smoothly. She is looking forward to seeing her grandkids.
  11. Yes I would say that's my style
  12. Happy Birthday!! Adding you to the Birthday list
  13. I was having computer issues yesterday and couldn't post. Hope you had a fabulous Birthday!!
  14. Hello all busy week here for me. Stepdad made it to his new place, arrived without any shoes. No shoes at the hospital and they didn't tell me? I would have ordered some for him. In any case the facility will buy some and put it on his bill. I will be glad when he gets his things at the new place. My mom is having a neighbor deliver them this weekend. I'm kind of exhausted. Heading off to bed early this week. I have been doing my daily 10 min exercise and sticking to my low spend year so far. I've bought only the basic needs no extras at all.
  15. Hope you have a blessed Birthday!
  16. Hi All I'm too far behind to catch up but sounds like everyone is doing ok. Jeepers I like the way you have set up your new house I hope you get to move there permanently soon. I got my flu shot yesterday finally arm is sore but feeling great otherwise. Took down the Christmas wreath and lights and swept the porch and steps even though it's cold. Felt good to get something done I've been very lax lately on accomplishing my to do list. I feel like I don't have any energy this winter. Stepdad still in the geri psych hospital he hasn't been sleeping so they are keeping him there a bit longer, plan for now is to send him to the new place Tues. We'll see. I'm going to be so relieved when he gets moved to the new place.
  17. Hope your Birthday is extra special!
  18. Feel better Jeepers and have a safe trip! It's really cold here today. We got a light dusting of snow. Finally feels and looks like winter here. I am taking today to just rest and recouperate after all the stress now that I have a place to send my stepdad. I will do laundry and read today.
  19. Safe travels Jeepers it's really going to be a cold yucky mess so hope it doesn't interfere with your trip. Worked late tonight and working on a discharge plan for my stepfather who unfortunately has caught COVID at the hospital. But that may buy us some time to find the right location to move him to. The issue I'm having is the discharge planners send me these facilities that all look the same, they all say they do the same things and yet the facility that kicked him out advertized the same kind of care. How on earth can I tell if they can handle him? And manage to stick under his budget still leaving him with any funds to have a cushion. Not many options. And tons of phone calls I will probably be on the phone most of the day and Saturday making up my mind on what makes sense for his care. What I've learned from all of this? Don't get dementia. Sigh...
  20. Happy Belated B-day Snowmom! So sorry have had a lot going on this week with family stuff and missed posting your birthday!
  21. Welcome Back Cat!!!!!!! Pulling out the party machine We have missed you!!!
  22. Hope you have an amazing wonderful Birthday Dee!!
  23. Miki hope you have a good weekend too. Jeepers glad your new phone is working out. Hope the insurance is transferrable to your new location. I'm researching policies now I think it will be really important to put in place knowing what a mess it can be without it. Littlesister sounds like you've got great canning projects planned. Hope your GS feels better soon. So sorry about your neighbor I had sewing today and got all my strip blocks done for the donations quilts my guild is making. I just have one more bundle of strips to sew for next weekend. I'll tackle that with my 10 min per day habit I'm building to sew a bit every day. I've exercised every day this month just 10 minutes doing yes2next on you tube walking videos and they are a great way to get started when you're really out of shape. Which I have to admit I am. So I'm working on that with baby steps I want to be able to keep myself strong as I age.
  24. Jeepers sorry you couldn't find your old phone but glad you got the new one even if it was a pain and not quite what you wanted. I need a new phone too and not looking forward to dealing with that but it's not an emergency I just have a crack in the cover over the camera lens and I like to take photos on my camera so that's my motivation. Hard to justify that only for a camera but I am saving up for it. Got my stepfather in a safe temporary place (see Blue Couch for details) so crisis averted for now. I also found out yesterday I'm getting a raise so that was great news! I had a really challenging year last year at work but secured a very large grant for the company so I think I can breathe easier knowing my hard work has been seen and appreciated. Taking down all the ornaments off the trees today and will leave them up with just lights until Saturday when I can have more time to wrangle them into their boxes
