  1. Hi everyone! I used to frequent this board often but I dunno. I guess life happened and I stepped away. Actually, I got divorced, moved to a new state (from NC to VA) took a new job with more hours, etc. I find I don’t have much time in my hands usually-but I’m recovering from surgery now so here I am. Lol i was SO happy to read the email about the changes that are happening. I had tried to find this board a little while ago but sadly I’d forgotten the name so I was super excited to see that email. Anyway. I’m here. I’m usually pretty quiet but I’ll be poking around, trying to get back in the prepping game. For the last few years I’ve been in an apartment and space was limited so I pretty much stopped all prepping. But now I’m in a house and I have lots of room. I’m prepping for me, my boyfriend, my 21 year old daughter who lives about 20 minutes away, and my 17 yr old son who lives with me. I look forward to getting to know all of you again.
  2. Aww, poor thing. I'll pray for her.
  3. Oh honey, you're not worthless. (((HUGS))) I have chronic pain and feel I'm a burden a lot of time. It's *hard* when your mind wants to go and do things but the ol' body won't. I'm praying for you.
  4. I try to keep on hand: Ibuprofen (my kids hate Tylenol) Vicks VapoRub Children's mucinex/allergy meds benadryl hydrocortisone cream chicken noodle soup/crackers sprite Gatorade Vit C Zinc No aspirin (I know you know that ). My cousin died from Reye's syndrome, and it was heartbreaking. I was little at the time, but I can still see her sister kissing her cheek. *tears* (Sorry to go offtopic there.) Just think of things you'd like if you were sick-fuzzy pj's, popsicles, etc. I'm ALL about comfort. It won't take long before you figure them out.
  5. I'm like that. *blush* I want every stray I can find-the more the merrier! Thankfully dh talks me down most of the time, LOL. (although, at the moment we have 4 outside cats and 2 dogs).
  6. My MIL has Alzheimer's. Looking back on it, she had symptoms for *years*, but we all just chalked it up to her crazy personality. We would have times where one of us would say that she just didn't seem right, but if we ever approached her about it, she would freak out, get mad, etc. (totally NOT like her-should have been a clue!!) It took her having a few wrecks to really start looking into what was going on w/ her. She is now on medicine, and does fairly well-but she's in a rough spot right now. She'll have spells that last a week or two where she can't even get out of bed, and then suddenly, she's "back". THanks for the list! I urge anyone who has older people in their lives to keep the symptoms for AZ in the back of their mind.
  7. Aww, poor little dude. I have a dachshund too, and I can't imagine anything happening to him. I hope by now everything is back to normal.
  8. It sounds like it was a good day!
