  1. Kappy, that is a steal on the price of that meat. Looks really good.

Miki, hope you are having a great time on your trip and praying for a safe return.

Ambergris,  I am so sorry to hear about your job and how it is effecting your heath. 3 and a half years is steal a long time to have to work as it is not going to make your health any better.  Have you thought about trying to get disability. At least that way you could retire early and still keep your pension. You might could check in to it and see if it would be beneficial for you to do so.

Well, it was not easy, but I packed up all of Dh's clothes from closet. It has been 4 1/2 months. So I thought it should be time. They say that each thing you do is a step closer to healing. I sure hope they are right about that because it sure didn't feel like it. But it is now behind me and hoping I can move on just a little bit more. But now I will need to find a quilter for the memory quilt. I am going to have that one made and then the others my daughter and I are going to make. With my hands like they are, I might not be a big help though. But I will be trying.

Awning guy came late this afternoon and I got the awning ordered. It will be July before it is installed. It will be really great to be able to use the patio for the first time since I have lived here. This should have been done years ago but Dh didn't want one. I am a bit tired of the air conditioner not cutting off in afternoon because the sun is so brutal that it heats up the den and kitchen by 20 to 30 degrees and that is with the blinds closed. That awning will make a big difference in my electric bill.

Yesterday, I went to my friend's house that had fractured her back.  She wanted to go to Aldi's to buy a few groceries. From the looks of things she didn't have much of anything in house to eat. Freezer was almost empty and her pantry only had 2 cans of food.  She lives on a small social security check and alimony. And it just is not that much. She owns her house which is paid for, but there are expenses that comes with that. So I let her buy what she wanted which was some fresh veggies and milk. That was all she could afford. So I bought her 2 huge packs of chicken and hamburger and a little more than 20 cans of veggies.. She cannot bend down to get things out of oven and can only cook on top of stove unless someone is there to put things in oven to cook and then to take it out again. So I helped her to get a casserole cooked and did a few things around house for her.  She has to keep the brace on for another month and they still won't let her drive. He son comes over on the weekend to help her but he won't shop at Aldi's. She said he doesn't like that store and won't take her there. The canned goods at Aldi's were 47 cents a can. If I had taken her to a Food Lion or even Kroger or Walmart, She would be paying anywhere from 88 cents to 1.89 a can. She could not afford those prices on her income. I am going to see about her getting food from the food ministry. She goes to our church and she could use the help. I worked in the food ministry before Dh got down so sick and I know she is not on the list. So I am going to have her added to it.

  2. This morning I went through boxes from the small bedroom.  I am trying to hold out washing clothes as the guy is suppose to come remove the ramp for me. I am trying to hold out till it is town so I won't have to stand sideways to get the clothes out of washer and dryer.  But he didn't come today, and being a holiday, I don't think I will see him before Tuesday.

Granddaughter and her boyfriend was here for dinner this evening. The grill I had to put all the new parts on worked really well. No issues so I guess I got them on right.  So grill will be good for another few years before I have to replace them again.

Got kitchen cleaned up and then kids left to go home as granddaughter has to get up early in morning to babysit 4 children.

going to the mattress warehouse tomorrow to see what kind of mattresses they have, If they have what I want and it is on sale, I am going to go ahead and buy one for the bed in guest room. Then I can finish that room up. Then going to work on small bedroom and try to get the rest of furniture out of my bedroom and get that rug out. Then I am going bedroom and den furniture shopping.

Kappy, that is some great prices on the chicken and rib eye. Both are very high here. last time I priced rib eye it was $9.95 a lb. Need to go to Sam's club and price out the whole beef prices. I hope they will cut it up for me though. Otherwise I will have to get my granddaughter's boyfriend over here to do it for me. That wedding is going to be here before I know it and I still need to buy a dress.

  3. No child should be taken an experimental drug of any type. I am not getting it under doctors orders as I have auto immune disease and graves disease. When I went to see about my cell phone getting fixed, I also found out that the girl that helped me said her mother cannot get the vaccine for the same reason. There are a lot of reasons older people are not getting this vaccine. But the main reason is because the research leads as always to following the money and because it is experimental. We do not know what the long term effects of this drug is.  Also this is a part of the new green deal. For anyone that doesn't know what this really is and not what they are saying it is. Never trust the government. They are not truthful. They are trying to depopulate the world, this is not just the United States but the world. There are a lot of things going on they do not want us to know about. So yes, I am glad someone is standing up for these children's rights about this vaccine. They should not be getting it and I hope every state has someone to stand up for these children.

  4. Haven't canned anything today, but have some  potatoes I want to can. I canned some chicken a few days ago.

Homesteader, glad your husband is taken part in helping you.  Enjoy every minute of it.  My Dh always helped me with both canning and dehydrating. We did almost everything together and that is what i miss the most. He was my hands as I have arthritis in my hands to a point it is hard for me to cut things up, so he always cut up everything and then we would get it canned and or dehydrated.  Hardest part for me to overcome, now that I am doing it all on my own. It has not been easy but I will get pasted it with time.  As soon as i get these projects out of the way next week, I am going to can more chicken, beef and make some more soups and stews from what is in freezer. I have the freezer down just a tad bit, but need to get it emptied. have a lot of store bought frozen veggies in there for the soups and stews.  Will be taken a couple of weeks of doing nothing but canning in a week or two.

  5. This is my first time reading all this, but I knew about Mt. Rider's dad and have been keeping them all in prayer. I know this is very hard on all of them. I have one aunt still living that has these issues and last time I talked with my cousin she said she had become very angry, Something that happens with as it progresses.  I think the stages of dementia must change as time goes on. worst disease that could happen to anyone.

    1. Mt. Rider you and your family are still in my prayers and I hope and pray for your mom to get through all the stress of it all. I know very well how that can be as I have let myself go for over a year neglecting things I should have been doing like taken my BP medication and stuff. I would forget to take it while taken care of Dh along with the worse thing ever forgetting to take my Synthroid for my hypothyroid. I paid for that one.  So please make sure your mom takes care of herself during these hard times.  God Bless!   :hug3:

  6. Jeepers, the farmers market has an electric potato peeler.  Don't know the name of it, but it works great.  I want to check with the manager or Dh's cousin to see if they would put some potatoes through it for me. then I can just bring them home wash them and get them canned.

Today I went to cell phone place to see if they could figure out what I hit on my phone. Pictures and keypad and everything was distorted. They got it figured out and now is good to go. Then I went to Town Bank to talk with them about a home equity loan. So now I know what is what and will be getting the estimates on the fireplace and jacking up the house as soon as I get these smaller projects out of the way.  Got 3 well guys to call on estimates for the well. Then I am going to turn my attention on the bigger problems and get the home equity loan for those and maybe the main bathroom. That does need some work as well.

Then went to farmers market to buy strawberries and corn on cob. Came home and made 2 strawberry pies. Had 2 pie crust in freezer since Christmas and needed to get them out and used. So one pie the kids can take home with them.   It is my turn to cook dinner tomorrow night. So cooking ribs on grill, baked beans, corn on cob and strawberry pie for desert. Now that my grill is all back together with all new parts, I will be back doing a lot of grilling instead of heating up house this summer.

Thought I still had some cans of pork n beans here but had to run to store to get a couple of cans. (ouch!) What I used to pay 10 for a dollar for, then later up to 25 cents a can is now 79 cents a can.  Not even a lb. can. Since I was there I checked out the chicken and not much to be had. Meats were looking a bit slim this time. Produce has gone up as well as canned goods again. I didn't price the meats this time around.

Sunday after church I am going to go to friends house since I will be out that way and help her out a bit. She is the one that fractured her back and they still won't let her do anything. So going to take her to the new Aldi's out her way to shop and I will be doing all the lifting of the bags for her as she is still not allowed to lift anything nor will they let her bend over to use her oven. Then we are heading back to her house and have some lunch and then I am going to help her get a few things done around the house. She is not allowed to vacuum either. So I will help her get all that done. And it will give me something to do other than being at home going through boxes of stuff. I need the break from here. Might just do me some good as well.

  7. Had to replace 2 of my hoses this year.  They were so old they were shredding bad.  Still want to get a stainless steal one for the well. Would just need a short one as I would only be using that if something happens that water gets cut off.  And yes it would not be the first time around here for that to happen.

  8. Well, again today Spectrum TV, internet and house phone went out. That is now 2 days in a row. Only this time it messed up my router. Have been on phone between spectrum and Linksy. Linksy guy got it back on line and then out it went again. So between the router and computer both being old, it is time for a change. I now have the router connected directly into the computer to get internet. Going to now have to just buy both a new router and a computer. It is past time. And will also be looking into getting rid of Spectrum. I am over those people. There has to be a better way to watch TV or be on internet without Spectrum cutting in and out all the time. And they don't deduct that time from the bill either.  So for now till I can get some things done around here. the computer is sitting in small bedroom where router is connected, on a box and I am sitting in chair in front of box. Not very comfortable like this, but will do for now.  Called Dh's cousin this morning and he will be getting his guy to come remove the ramp and put in shed for me. At the price of wood, I am not going to pitch it in trash. I might could use the wood for raised beds or something.

I did get one box in small bedroom emptied today. Mostly yard sale stuff. So almost have another box full for yard sale. I don't know that I will continue to do as much craft stuff anymore. So having a hard time as of what to keep and what goes.

Need to run out tomorrow to get somethings done that I thought I was going to do today.  Going to head out to the mattress depot tomorrow. My neighbor told me about it and said they have some really good mattresses. She had to buy one for her father in law. So might be going ahead and buying one for the front bedroom. The bed is now set up and just needs a mattress and boxsprings.

  9. I haven't kept up with the numbers in a while. But know it is coming down here in VA. Our church is going to reopen on June 6th.  We have had church in our cars for over a year. though I just started going back about 2 months after DH pasted. It's been hard but getting better with time. I just have to keep busy to keep my mind off things. Though the nights are the worst but that to will get better with time.

All the grocery stores have taken down their you must wear a mask sign as it is no longer required unless the store owner still wants it. I just keep a mask with me just in case. Doctor says no on the vaccine because of me having auto immune disease. So I cannot get it. I will still continue to use hand sanitizer and keeping my hands washed as well as taken my Vitamins D, C and zinc. So I will still be taken precautions.

  10. I have a windows 7 that Microsoft downloaded windows 10 on. I have always kept the camera off and have the lens covered up with a piece of colored paper that is folded over about 4 times to make it thick. Though since they downloaded windows 10 the camera no longer works. Computer can't find it. So no issues there as I have never used it anyway.  I do have a Alexa that I never wanted, but my granddaughter in Washington state wanted all of us to have one so we could see each other and chat. So she got her mom, me and sister one last Christmas. I have it set through my cell phone so when she calls I know it's her and then I just turn the Alexa on and the camera. So the way she works it really doesn't get used much.  I always keep the speaker and camera off  on Alexa and camera covered as well when not in use. I have heard things about the fit bit and I have one but haven't used it in a long time.  I have also heard about how they have a back door on computers where they can turn your camera on without you knowing it. It is always a good idea to check to see if camera is on or off.  It is also the reason I have always kept the camera lens covered.

  11. Couldn't sleep well last night, so got up and went to den to watch TV. Fell asleep on couch and woke up at 8am.  I am feeling that one. The couch is not one you want to fall asleep on if you don't want to wake up sore.

Got the chicken I canned yesterday put away. 7 pints. Still got to get rest of chicken out of freezer to can along with some beef.  Had coffee and then started doing little things around house. Then went outside to shed and pulled the old shingles out and put on street for trash pickup along with the old garden umbrella. Now I can get the ramp down and put in corner of shed. At the price of wood right now, I don't want to just throw it out. That wood might come in handy for either a ramp for me or something else down the road.

Need to go out tomorrow to see about my phone being fixed. I hit something and now my pictures and everything else is distorted and I can't figure out what I hit. I was answering a call when it happened. So I will let phone people fix it for me.

then going to market to see Dh's cousin about the guy he has to come take the ramp down.  Then I can start getting the garage cleaned up and getting the car back in it.

I have been taken my time going through the boxes in small bedroom. A lot of stuff is going. Then I have the bookcases to go through. Lots of books that I have read that I want to box up for yard sale.  Now that the huge air compressor is out of garage I can stack all the yard sale stuff back in that corner of garage.

I have tomatoes and green peppers. the tomato vines are going to be loaded. Looks like a bumper crop.  Green peppers are doing good and that rabbit is about to hit the canner.  I am having a hard time keeping it out of garden and seems he doesn't care I have sonic deterrent. So tomorrow I am going to put the rabbit deterrent down if it doesn't rain.

Kappy, so glad you got your water fixed. That was great you had a neighbor that was a plummer. Worked out great. I am still trying to find someone to come work on my well. The last guy never called me back. But there are others I can call. Just hope I can get someone to come work on it soon.

  12. Same here Kappy, prayers going out that you will continue to improve and be standing straight again. It can happen, you just need to keep that faith in the Lord.

I am canning chicken this morning.  Still have to get the rest of chicken out of freezer. Bought a large pack of chicken breast to add to what I have in freezer. Haven't been able to find out why the shortage of chicken wings. But from what I have been seeing in the stores, it looks more like a shortage on chicken breast, legs, wings, and thighs.  So I will just keep canning as much as I can.

Need to go furniture shopping soon. DD and SIL will be coming back in a month and we will be heading out to the furniture stores. Need a small desk, bedroom suit, and den furniture. I have been planning on getting new den furniture for a couple of years, but when Dh took sick I wasn't able. The furniture in there now is good furniture but it is leather, and both couch and chair is a recliner. Since my neck surgery I just cannot sit on it comfortably anymore. So need to find something that is comfortable for me.

Got a lot of boxes in the small bedroom to go through. It is no longer in every room in the house. So I have a chair in there with 3 boxes. One for trash, One for yard sale and one for what I need to keep. I am starting to see a good downsizing of the inside of house.

The awning guy will be here on the 1st to give me a price to put up awning over patio door and see how I could do the kitchen window. I have to close the blinds in middle of the day due to the sun coming in and heating the den and kitchen up by 20 to 30 degrees. Air conditioner will not cut off when that happens and I am tired of being in the dark and having to turn on the  lights to see. So this should take care of that problem.

Though I am doing better, I still have my moments. But at least I am getting better.

Didn't make it to church Sunday as I was so sore and hurting when I got up Sunday morning from moving heaving stuff around.  I paid for that dearly. My hands are hurting now because of rain coming. Old Arthur is telling me my joints are going to hurt. He's right. We are suppose to have thunder storms today. Pain in hands or not, I need to keep moving and get the rest of this stuff done.  Going to start checking out Well companies to get a new pump and get that set back up again. Need to get that done soon as using city water to water plants will not be cheap and water is going up 25%. Welcome to surprising Suffolk. It just gets worse and worse. Next to Portsmouth, we pay some very high taxes around here..

  13. euphrasyne, Last thing you need in that area are to have apartments.  You will be looking like us if they keep it up. Carrolton is growing up like crazy as will. These roads and the schools cannot handle all of this.

DD, SIL, granddaughter and her boyfriend have been here all day. They went back this evening.  They got the double bed, air compressor and a lot of other things I needed gone. The wrap around desk and the chair is out now.  My old bedroom suit is set up in the front bedroom, except I still have the tall dresser and one nightstand to move into that room. Need to have something for the TV that is sitting on tall dresser to put tv on. If I decide to keep it in my bedroom. Kids are coming in in a month and we are going furniture shopping. I will need a new bedroom suit for my room and a small table for tv. and a small desk that will go in small bedroom. That is all I will need for an office now, So just a small corner will work for that. So now I have a quest room as soon as I get a mattress and box spring  for that bed. Very sore and tired tonight. That was a lot of moving of  heavy stuff. Just have one more large rug to get out of my bedroom and they will go into yard sale. They are the big cause of the dust in that house. They shed like crazy and no amount of vacuuming will help.  Will be glad to have them out of here.

I am having someone come in on the 1st to talk with me about an awning going over the patio door and the kitchen window. The sun is so bad coming into the den and kitchen that it heats the rooms up by 20 to 30 degrees. And I have to close the blinds by 2 pm making the rooms dark. So that problem will be taken care of.  I hate a dark room in middle of day.

Never thought I would one day be dealing with all this stuff. But DH did not want an awning which was much needed as the air condition would not cut off with the sun coming in like it does. Nor a lot of other things. I had a hard time for a couple of months trying to clear things out and down size, but now I am doing better with it without getting upset as I can now see how much easier it will be for me to clean house and not have all this clutter. I think the changes do help. Though I still have not packed up his clothes and gone through the ones for a memory quilt.. Maybe in a couple of more months I can do it.  It all takes time and will come when I am ready.

I am patting myself on the back. I replaced all the parts on my big gas grill. Never have done it before, but had watched Dh change it at least 3 times since we bought it.  Needed new burners and the covers replaced. Works like a new grill again.

  14. euphrasyne, I had not heard about that on news yet, but sure it will be on there.  I have never known of any thing happening in that area, so that is scary. Hope it wasn't a crime type thing.  But then you said it is in the woods. So yes I think I would be freaking out as well. That is to close for comfort.

Ambergris, my daughter has one of those desk that euphrasyne is talking about.  She will be working from home from now on since she moved. Her's also is electric and she has back issues.  It might be well worth looking into.

I was up at 5:30 this morning. went out to check the garden. All looks good. Will see this evening if I need to water or not. Nights and early mornings are still cool and all plants were very wet from the dew. So that does help with watering. I am seeing more and more roma and cherry tomatoes coming in but still not on the big boys and others. But they do have blooms on them. So maybe they will start forming tomatoes in about another month. Peppers and eggplants doing well and having to keep a close eye on blueberries. They should start ripening at anytime now.

Kids will be coming in early tomorrow morning. So got to finish moving things around so they can get the desk and bed out of house and move a dresser into the front bedroom for me. I could do it, but to get it through the doors, I need to take the mirror off of it and I can't do that on my own. But will have it ready to be moved.  I can't wait to get this stuff out so I can start getting things back together again.  Lot's of stuff packed up in boxes and marked for yard sale. Will store those boxes in corner of garage till time for the yard sale.

If granddaughter drives down with them when DD leaves to go home, I am thinking of riding in with her. I can just come back with granddaughter when she leaves to come home Sunday night.  We live about 2 minutes away from each other, so works out good. And I can see which routes they take.

  15. Ambergris, Can you get your boss to buy you one of those tables that the computer sits on on your desk that raises up and down. So that you can also work standing up when you need to stand. My daughter has one and then her company got them for all the office employs.. It made a big difference for them as my daughter also has back issues.

Jeepers we don't have a Meijers but do have bed bath and beyond.  The bed bath and beyond by me went out of business. So now If I want sheets, blankets or anything I have to go to Va. beach or Newport News to one. Bed bath and beyond had everything from linen, to curtains and so much more. Right now I have been ok on all that stuff, but will be paying more attention to what is in stores. Will have to check T.J. Max next time I go there. They sell a lot of linen and such. I know they had said there was a shortage of cotton items, Wonder is that is the reason and it is just now catching up with us..

I bought a huge batch of white wash clothes back 3 or 4 years ago and would wash them up and put in a couple of 5 gal. buckets as when DH worked in garden and doing yard work, they would get so stained up and turn gray from the dirt. So every so many months I would put the ones that had been bleached so much and getting ragged out in the rag box and pull out some new ones. Think I will make a trip to Big Lots next week to see what they have.

  16. Gas prices seem to be holding at $2.85 here right now.  Not sure about the area Euphrasyne is in. Though I was out past that way the other day heading to home depot.  And I think it was $2.89 at one of the stations there. I don't buy gas out that way and only keep up with gas out my way and in Carrolton area.

  17. On 5/18/2021 at 8:40 PM, Jeepers said:

I read where the hackers were paid $5,000,000.00

I don't think that was a smart message to send to deter hackers.

I love my Jeep so much that if they ever come back out with a Liberty model like mine I'd trade it off for a new one. I think the last one like mine was 2012. I like the old Liberty and Wranglers.

Jeepers, I have been looking hard at the Jeep Gladiator.  Not willing to make that car payment though. Maybe in a couple of years.

  18. Kappy, glad the therapy is working out good.  You will be standing straight and tall before you know it.

Homesteader, I am glad that all worked out well for your husband with the therapy.  Hard work does pay off. I remember those days well when Dh had to learn to walk all over again after a severe stroke back in 93.  Tough times indeed.

I have the front bedroom cleaned out and have been cleaning the floor in there.  I have the headboard in there but not sure which wall I am going to put that monster bed on till kids come in this week end and put it back together.  Clearing out the small bedroom today so daughter can take the double bed back home with her.  That is going to be my bed when I go to visit with them. She really was funny when she said she was going to downsize her house. That included the house when she bought this one. Turns out that she moved from a 4 bedroom house to a 4 bedroom house with potential for a 5th bedroom. Might have been a good thing as if I move down to where they are, the kids will more than likely be staying with them as I will be getting a smaller house with some land. Something I can keep up.  I don't mind a second floor as long as the master bedroom is down stairs. That is what my daughter has now. 2 bedrooms downstairs, 2 bedrooms upstairs with potential for the 5th bedroom up there. She bought a bigger house than what she sold here. But though it is a fixer upper, it is really nice. They have done a lot of work on it but still pulling down wallpaper. I swear they will be pulling down wallpaper for the next 10 years. It's a lot of wallpaper and in every room in that house.

Next week I am going to go to bank and take out a home equity line of credit so I can start getting things fixed around here.  I would only have to use that money if I need it but is there when I do. I think the fireplace is going to be a huge undertaken. It's in bad shape. Not worried about jacking up the dinning room floor as that will cost but not to bad.  But the floors in dining room and also living room will have to be redone as the hardwood floor under the china hutch is broken in 3 places. So need to replace those floor boards and then sand and stain. If they can match the rest of floor it might save me on that. Trying to keep cost of everything as low as I can as prices just keep going up, up, up on everything from gas, food, taxes, and now I hear that Biden plans on a tax for anyone driving a gas driven car. Not sure if that is going to happen.  Seems that they want to do that in the name of saving the planet. While they line their pockets with that money as well.

Found out about the neighbor that kept coming around here checking out things and asking questions about my house. He was looking to see what I have that he wanted.  No there is no estate sale, I am still living. No I am not selling my house but could change in a couple of years. If there is anything you want the yard sale will be in the fall. You can buy what you want from that.  He started back walking today but didn't see me outside this morning. So thinking now he knows I am not giving away tools, lawn and garden equipment, etc. so now I think he will go back to being normal. Seems there are a couple of neighbors that go around when a husband passes hoping the wife will just give away anything they want. Only had him to deal with. Now things are back to normal and he is back to just hello how are you today.  Glad that is over or at least I hope so. He really wanted to get into the house that one time and I wouldn't let him in. He got the idea.

Garden is doing great, I already have blueberries but not ripe yet. Tomatoes look like they are going to be a bumper crop. Cherry tomato plants are loaded and the Roma tomatoes are forming now.  So in about a month or so I will be picking tomatoes for sure. Blueberries in a couple of weeks. Seems things are coming in early this year.  The egg plants are in bloom as well as the green peppers. Had to replant the cucumbers as the bunny got the first ones. Got the sonic stuff out and plugged in out there to keep animals away from garden. Works great. Need batteries for 2 of the solar ones. So need to see if Battery Plus carries them. Will take an old one with me as well as a battery from my house phones. They are not holding a charge like they should. But those phones are over 10 years old, so no surprise batteries are not holding as long now.

Weather is starting to really warm up now. Already in 80's. Getting humid as well, so had to turn on air conditioner. Nights are still cool though.

  19. Annarchy, I didn't know you were on a trip but glad to see you are back home safe and sound.  I to have missed a lot of post over at least a month or maybe longer. I hope to be able to catch up but it won't be this week. Kids are coming into town this weekend and I am trying to get everything together for them to take home. Then I can get my house back together.

Went to Food Lion this morning and it was a bit different. I had not been there in 2 weeks. They have removed everything from front of store, opening it up and had stacked beer up in middle of floor near the front.  Also it looks like they have removed some shelving units out as they seem to be further back from the front of store.  Prices have gone up and a shortage on chicken. So my friend was right. There was not a lot of chicken there. Also can goods won't to bad, but no where what it used to be. They are not selling or are out of a lot of things. Both the Food Lion and Harris Teeter have very little cake mixes. That I had noticed 2 weeks ago at Harris Teeter and seems Food Lion is now very low. Meats were in meat counter with chicken being slim pickings, but beef and pork was much lower in the amounts they did have a couple of weeks or so ago.

I have been hearing we are heading for a famine and higher prices both at the pump and the grocery stores. I think come 2022 if not sooner, this country will have gone down the tubes.  The inflation of the dollar is getting much worse and the stock markets are going down. The medical field is in the dump and I see no way of it getting any better. Medications are also going up. And now Biden is pushing for all of us to buy electric cars. I am not buying one at my age as the car I have will more than likely be the last car I ever buy. Yes I would love to have that Jeep that is part truck and part SUV. But I am not going to buy it as the last thing I need is a bill. I am going to take inventory of all I have and to see what I would really need for future use. I do not want to be buying things I don't think I can use. Going to downsize the house as much as I possibly can.  We have already had the gas hacked, and if the hackers was paid off, then that means we have the next hack to look forward to. So I am going to try to wrap my head around all this to try to keep at least one step ahead of it all.  I do not see us coming back from what is going on in this world.

  20. Wow, Jeepers, are you sure you aren't trying to clean out my house? My small bedroom is partly a pantry. I have shelving units in there to hold my food I have canned. Then there is that closet that is full of food. But is starting to dwindle down a bit. I took a lot of canned goods, flour and other things to the church food pantry.  When all the kids were living here and they were short on money, they always shopped at my house for food. But now they have spread out to other states with only one still here for about a year longer. She graduates college in Dec. and then in April of next year to SC. to medical school. So I needed to get rid of the store bought canned foods, etc. I also have a very long hall closet that is also a pantry. I do not have a real pantry in this house and the kitchen cabinets just don't hold that much. They are small and just not enough of them. But I am not going to do a kitchen remodel if I am going to sell the house in a year or two.

My attic and the one shed is loaded and needs to be dumped. That is coming, in a couple of months after I get the house back together. The front bedroom I am turning back into a bedroom as it was my office, that closet is holding the long term foods. Don't know if I want to keep that or not. It is 25 and 30 year foods and I have had it now for about 8 or 9 years. One part of me says to find  a home for it and the other part says start using it, we are heading for a famine. Not to mention we are already in inflation. Prices are going up at a fast rate now.  Seems every time I go to the store the prices on somethings have gone up again. Seems to be a weekly thing.  My bedroom walk-in closet is one hot mess. I still haven't packed up Dh's clothes out of there and there is a lot of other stuff stored in there. I will do that closet as soon as I get the other 2 bedrooms and those closets cleaned out.

Talking about clothes, that one shed I need to clean out is full of clothes, old curtains, all my canning jars. and so much more. The attic is another story. I have TP, PT, kleenex and such stored up there. I need to get it all down later after I get the garage cleaned out. That is going to happen this weekend. And I can't wait. DH put shelving units on one side of the garage to hold my pressure canners and all the appliances as I have no where to put them in kitchen. I will be going through all of those and what I can't use now, will go into the yard sale. I want to get those shelves cleaned off and move them to a better location after SIL gets the monster air compressor and other things out of the garage.

I just want it all done now and that is just not going to happen that way. What can I say. Me tired. And yes it is slow going and I to need to stop and rest for a while. My hands are killing me right now. So don't know if rain is coming, but when it does my hands will get so sore I can hardly use them.
