  1. Hi All, My husband and I live in Brazil with our kids, and we live in the country where my kids are always playing in the dirt. I have hear over and over that even if they don't have symptoms, they likely will pick up parasites from the dirt or from the cats since they are outdoor cats. If this is true, after 2 years in this house, they probably need a good dose. Most people I know here give their kids treatment once a year - rich or poor. It's just part of the culture. My question is this: does anyone here know of foods or natural ways to get rid of parasites? I don't have access to dichotomous earth, or many of the different ''roots' that the websites recommend. I have given them each a single dose of Albendazole per direction of the pharmacist, but I am looking for something ongoing that I can include in our diets that will eliminate them as well. All help is appreciated! Thank You! BR-mom
  2. I've gotten a few ideas on this site - especially on days when I haven't grocery shopped in a bit!
  3. THANK YOU everyone! I've given them warm lime & honey mixed to help with the mucus build up and it's helping. I also gave them some OTC stuff that seems to be helping with the mucus. At least they are eating now! It seems that many of you recommend boric acid, so I'll have to see if I can get that here. Sounds like a good addition to my medicine cabinet. They seems to get better, then take a little step back, but I am thankful my older two seem to be avoiding it! Thanks again!
  4. Jori, Thanks! I hadn't thought to use allergy medicine. I do have some Allegra on hand, so I"ll give that a try today.
  5. Hi all. I have 4 y-o twins and they both have been sick this week. They both have sinus drainage that's making them gag/throw up when they try to eat. One of them also has very seepy eyes (especially her right eye.) And, they've both had fevers. They were pretty high the other day, but now they are getting to 102 at the highest. They are in preschool and 11 kids from their class were out the other day with this virus...so it's going around. My question is this: do any of you have natural 'remedies' that you've used and can suggest? I don't have access to go buy essential oils, or a lot of the homeopathic stuff...so am looking to use things more common in the home (salt, honey, etc.) I do have aloe plants in the garden. I've been using warm salt water to clean the eyes and a honey/milk mixture to treat them. For the fever/sinus stuff, I've been using OTC meds...I cannot get one of them to drink tea for anything right now :-( Thank you!
  6. I buy sugar in 5Kg bags (about 11 pounds) and store it in big tupperware containers or in large plastic bottles (juice, etc.) Just make sure to keep it closed tight or you'll be finding little ants in the sugar...BTDT
  7. Cat, I love how the Lord led you here, and the testimony of how He used it to really teach you the value of YOU for who He made you to be, and not who others tried to make you to be. The Brazilian people are wonderful. In the US I did not have family in NC where we lived, but we pastored a small Brazilian church and the Brazilians there were very much my family. Needless to say, I am very much at home here! I know the cities you are talking about - my husband was in Juiz de Fora and some other cities/towns around there a week or so ago translating for a pastor friend of ours from Toronto that's here in Brazil for a month. Maybe one day you'll make it back 'home' to Brazil :-) I'll send you a PM with where I actually live. Blessings!
  8. "Why Revival Tarries" by Leonard Ravenhill "A Woman After God's Own Heart'" by Elizabeth George Plus a book on food storage techniques in Brazil.
  9. Thank you all for the warm welcome!
  10. Hi All! Cat invited me here from another forum and I am glad she did! I am a Christian wife and a mom of 4 kiddos. I am American, but am currently living & serving the Lord in Brazil with my husband and children. I grew up in NW Ohio, but lived in North Carolina for 14 years before moving to Brazil. I live in the interior of Brazil in the state of Minas Gerais. I am excited to be here among a group of like-minded women who understand the times and the necessity to be ready for what's coming. Right now I am trying to learn how to increase my food storage and how to store it -Brazilian style. It's VERY different & so much more expensive than it was in the US! Thanks for welcoming me in! I look forward to spending some time here with y'all! Blessings, BR-Mom
