  1. If you can't find the part, use the old pressure cooker as a water still. You make a thick dough. You need about 15 - 20 feet of copper tubing/pipe. Make a couple of circles with the tubing and bend it down and place the end in another large pan. Fill the old pressure cooker with water...add some marbles to the bottom so you know when it's empty. Add the lid. Place one end of the tubing over the stand thing for the weight and place the dough around it...it will cook and make a seal. The water will boil and recondense in the tubing and drip into the second pan.
  2. If you dry something too much, you can always grind it and add it with flour (just a little) or add it to creamed soups (like ground broccolli in broccolli & cheese soup). Jams that didn't jell can be used as ice cream (as well as the pancake)toppings or to flavor milk or yogurt too. I hate to throw away anything. If I find that I have bought something that we don't like, I donate it to the local rescue mission right away so they can use it. If I have frozen meat that is getting old, I either can it, cook & refreeze it (for our dogs to eat) or donate it to the zoo for the animals to eat.
  3. I'll just tell them to deduct it from my disability payments that they probably won't be making to me.
  4. Make any recipe you like and leave out the mushrooms. If your husband is not allergic and just doesn't like mushrooms, run them a food processor into mush and add them. If you job them fine, they can't find them and so no problem...do it all the time with the kids. I also use it for onions, peppers, mushrooms, black olives all the stuff my kids would pick out if they had a chance.
  5. Salt - is very necessary and you can never have too much and there is no substitute.
  6. Try it with cream of chicken and chicken broth.
  7. Well, I have about 200#s to loose, can I sign up too. I've already lost 250#s, but of course that was my ex-husband..quess that doesn't count. I almost had gastric bypass, but when the doctor prescribed the only two things that I am allergic to for a stomach bacteria I backed out. Since then, I've just been thinking about getting back on the bus.
