  1. If you'd like to support Sheri and Ward financially, please see this website. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pa...105853069459962
  2. I am saying goodbye. I have been troubled here for a long time but I could not figure out why I was so uncomfortable. I had an "ahah" moment this morning. I want you all to know that you are all blessed people. Your lives and families are in my prayers. This is just not the place for me. I have no negative feelings or thoughts, just a deeper understanding of where my own heart lies. Please don't reply or message me here. I won't read it. I am really not sure that my thoughts can be put to words so you could really understand. The only thing that I know to be true is that I was not meant to be one who suvives. God bless you all. Joan
  3. It helps me too, Cat. I had a very smart dog once. She was brilliant in doggie terms, but what her smarts gave her what the ability to worry. I could talk to her in plain english and she would just do what we told her to do. She understood many things but, he would fret and fret over the smallest things. I could never get her to understand that things were ok and she could just let go and let me take care of things. If I moved a suitcase, it did not mean I was leaving her or if went near my coat I was going out - with or without her. I often feel so much like that dog. Just understanding enough to worry about things. I can see God standing over me saying... Hey now, don't make to much out of this, I have it all under control. YOu just are too bright and think you see how things are. Everyting is undercontrol.
  4. I love Wikis. I thing that a grass roots involvment on any topic is awsome. After the Tsunami I followed a Wiki to get the latest and most accurate information on the internet. This is a new and very authoritative Wiki on the flu, Flu Wiki Quote: "I'm working with some of the best scientists in the country on the subject of pandemic influenza," said Melanie Mattson, who maintains the site. "If I have a question about what's going on I ask them." And Flu Wiki, the Virginia resident said, is "probably the most complete authority in English on pandemic influenza on the Internet." Even for a site with more than 1,200 pages AP Wire You can acutally add to the content of a Wiki, it will be checked for authority and accuate sources but some of the MRS material would be nice to see in this larger project.
  5. I have finally come to the realization that my survival interests are a bit different than many here but is there anyone who into wilderness survival at all. After our last trip to Holden Village I realized that my outdoor clothing gear was all wrong. To begin with my cotton underwear was all wrong and in soaking snow my coat became wet and heavy. In the past month I have been investing in better outdoor clothing. I just bought 2 Gortex coats off off Ebay and I am looking for wicking long underwear. Wicking and Goretex are my too main Ebay searches these days. Is anyone else into this??

    Joan?

I hear she took a break for awhile. Her boss died and she had a lot to deal with at work. Winter is almost over and new life is "springing" into her soul.
  7. Ten Guidelines From God Effective immediately, please be aware that there are changes YOU need to make in YOUR life. These changes need to be completed in order that I may fulfill My promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you. Please, follow these 10 guidelines 1. QUIT WORRYING: Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way? 2. PUT IT ON THE LIST: Something needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem. I can't help you until you turn it over to Me. And although My to-do-list is long, I am after all... God. I can take care of anything you put into My hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize. 3. TRUST ME: Once you've given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back. Trust in Me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on My list. Problem with finances? Put it on My list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For My sake, put it on My list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask. 4. LEAVE IT ALONE: Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here." Why do you think you are feeling stronger now? It's simple. You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking care of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don't you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started? Leave them with Me and forget about them. Just let Me do my job. 5. TALK TO ME: I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I'm in control. But there's one thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't forget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love YOU! I want to hear your voice. I want you to include Me in on the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family. Prayer is simply you having a conversation with Me. I want to be your dearest friend. 6. HAVE FAITH: I see a lot of things from up here that you can't see from where you are. Have faith in Me that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me; you wouldn't want the view from My eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me. Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard can trust be? 7. SHARE: You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith with those who have none. 8. BE PATIENT: I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when it takes Me a little longer than you expect to handle something on My to-do-list? Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush. 9. BE KIND: Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all. Please try to get along, for My sake. I created each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical. Please, know I love each of your differences. 10. LOVE YOURSELF: As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by me for one reason only -- to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes My heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to me. Don't ever forget......

    Autism

Autism on NPR yesterday I just caught part of this on the radio yesterday and it was very interesting. New Approach to Autism Let me know what you think.
  9. God must have know you needed help today. I just spent 30 minutes reading about forgiveness. Remember that you are the first person you need to forgive. Forgiving others comes after you forgive yourself. Here are a few things from the link I found on Forgiveness The most creative power given to the human spirit is the power to heal the wounds of a past it cannot change. We do our forgiving alone, inside our hearts and minds: what happens to the people we forgive depends on them. We forgive people only for what they do, never for what they are. We forgive people only for wounding and wronging us; we do not forgive people for things we do not blame them for. We cannot forgive a wrong unless we first blame the person who wronged us. Forgiving is a journey; the deeper the wound, the longer the journey. Forgiving does not require us to reunite with the person who broke our trust. We do not forgive because we are supposed to; we forgive when we are ready to be healed. Waiting for someone to repent before we forgive is to surrender our future to the person who sronged us. Forgiving is not a way to avoid pain, but to heal pain. Forgiving is done best when it is done intolerantly. Forgiving a person does not mean we are willing to put up with hwat he does. We do not excuse the person we forgive; we blame the person we forgive. Forgiving is essential; talking about it is optional. Sometimes to forgive yourself you must take some action first. Remember that criminals are forgive and let out to go free after a period of time. We must not imprison ourselves for life for something we have done. Let it go and move on. Sometimes the best way to forgive ourselves is to do something for someone else. You may not be able to fix the wrong you caused but you can help somone else recover from another wrong. Action is meaning and meaning is life.
  10. I just saw this post, so this is last night's dinner. We tried out my new pie irons for the first time. We cooked in the coals of the wood stove. We had a simple dinner of scrambled eggs and cheese. It was fun to cook over wood.
  11. What a testimony to the power of God. God's time is not always ours, but know that he had you under his wings all the time. Welcome home

    Blocked webpage

Quote: I can't access the website at all. I have their link in my email the company sent me telling me I had to fill stuff out before they can do my final interview and orentation. But when I click on it, another email page opens up. Look at the URL for the webpage that you are tying to open up. Web Page addresses can be long but they all stem from a single domain name. First thing to check is to see if the web page address (URL) begins with http:// or https:// if not then they did not send you a web page at all. Seconnd look to see what domain the address is trying to access. I call this the sandwich form for URL's. A URL domain has 3 parts. The first part is can be www (but not always). The second part is the "meat of the sandwich" or the domain or who the website belongs to. For example www.toyota.com belongs to toyota. The third part is who they are. Com means commercial -- org is non-profit -- edu is education and gov is govenment. Type in the main 3 part URL into your web browere. Just the first 3 parts of the URL you have. www.myjob.com Leave off the rest. This will tell you if their site is up and running. Sometimes you can navigate to the page you want from the main page, try that. If you can't then add the next section of the URL that you have to you main 3 part URL. www.myjob.com/next Hit enter and see what you get. Look over what you have and see if you can find it that way. If not add the next section. Remember that the end of many URL's is a 2 part something.html you must put the .html on the end to see the file. Sometimes it will be htm or pdf. PDF and others require a plugin to view. That may be your issue too. Good luck

    ADHD

Thanks for this post Snow. I have ADD and it can be both a gift and a struggle. I have chosen to not medicate but to accept myself as I am. I have found that a healthy diet does help too.
  14. Here are my favorite bird flu links Prepare your immune system for bird flu outbreak Why the bird flu virus is less deadly but more dangerous
  15. More than placing our prayers where we need it today. I think that we need to look to God's bigger plan. Drought is both good and bad, so is rain. At times it is very difficult to see the good. Many of our early settlers moved because of drought and look where we are today. Life is very tough on people. God's plan is not just about us or me as an individual. I may survive or I may not but my life in this world was important to the world. Change and survival are a part of God's plan. We all play a part. We all live on this world in both good and bad times, but the total picture is not ours to see. We are given just a piece of the puzzle and we are called to make our peace as perfect as we can. Unfortunatly survival is not the largest part that we have to do. We must love one another, take care of our bodies, nurture the earth and influence others with our good works. It is through fear that we are imoblized and through belief that we are set free. I have wanted to say this for a long time here, infact I never could quite find the words until today. I think I was helped out today because the words just flowed.
  16. I would gladly send you some rain if I could. Tomorrow is our 27th day straight of rain, with more predicted. They say that the ground can not possibly hold anymore water here.
  17. We went up to see our son this weekend up at Holden Village It was lots of fun, snowy and cold. Here is a few pictures. Yup that is me.
  18. My son will be going to Guatemala for a few months soon. I have heard that the fruits and veggies make people sick because the water to wash the food is contaminated. I was thinking of sending him down with some tea tree oil and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide for washing his fruit before he eats them. Does anyone have any more hints or suggestions on use so he does not get sick?
  19. I have used it when we thought we had giardia. It is a wonderful defense against bacteria, viruses and protozoan, but it does not boost your immune system, it can kill off the good stuff too. AND it tastes HORRID.
  20. This goal is missing and I do hope it can survive.

  22. I was surprised to learn that fleas are a sign of a weakened immune system in dogs. Once I started feeding my dogs quality food we have not had a flee in 8 years. Garlic helps too. I am still looking for Theyd's 6th goal.
