World War Two cookbooks

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know the names of some World War Two cookbooks and where to find them? I love going to garage sales but DH has a hearing problem when I say "there's a garage sale" otherwise his hearing is fine! With gas prices what they are, we usually go out together - any ideas? Any titles and/or authors?

**Cat looks around furtively and whispers in Pansy's ear...**

eBay... That's e-B-a-y...

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?f...0s+%2B+cookbook

(search "1940's + cookbook", plus click on "Search title and description", too)

(Also click on the "eBay stores" link at bottom right. EBay stores have some.)

Note** You'll get some NOT cookbooks thrown in if you click on the description links, because of someone just *says* they have them available, it'll show up, but in the long run you'll get a better search.

Half.com That's... well, you get it!

Harder to find here unless you have a title.

I have two that are old, one is Meta Givens Encyclopedia of Cooking from 1944, two volume set, and I just love it. The other is Fannie Farmers Cookbook. Mine is from 1928, but there are several editions before and after that, so you might look for one closer to WWII.
