Sez Dee:

I have a canister set, pitcher & bowl, etc. that I found at cracker barrell that matches the kitchen.

Dee, I had to smile when I read your comment. I LOVE shopping at Cracker Barrel. I can find Christmas gifts for the entire family there. LOL And that's where I asked to go for my birthday dinner this year. Did I mention that I love Cracker Barrel? I frequently buy my clothes there and my latest purchase was a wonderful Thanksgiving vest.

I enjoyed seeing your oil lamps in the kitchen. Do you use them for power outages or for the cozy ambience? Thanks for sharing and letting us peek inside your home.

EDITED: OKAY...here is one picture. I was having problems with sizing the pictures...but finally figured out how to do that! LOL! Thanks Darlene...I did see you post behind this one!

deblyn, when you click on *reply* to someone's post, and type out what you wanna say, when you scroll to the bottom to click send, there's a little box you checkmark that says *preview post or upload attachment*...if you check that box, and then click enter, it'll ask you to browse on your computer, the picture you're trying to upload. Find that picture and attach it, then enter your post...

I'm sure I've confused you more, but hopefully I haven't.

The last! I just took pictures because I am going to strip the cabinets, sand them down and then paint with a "natural" beige. I am going to add handles and knobs to all the drawers and cabinets. I want to lighten up the kitchen as well as give a more "country" feel to it!

Any thoughts, hints, tips, recommendations, etc?

Ok! I'm not playing THIS game...UH-UH! I want to see pictures of messy, dirty, sticky, grimy kitchens...Like MINE... With the little white Clear Jel footprints trailing throughout! I want to be able to have the best pictures!!! You know the ones.... with applesauce dripping down the cabinet doors, apple peels strewn everywhere, jam burned on the cooktop burners, counters covered with jars, sinks full of every pot, pan, or dish you own...all dirty...and the McD's wrappers, spilling out of the trash can...because you are so busy canning nutritious foods, that you don't have time to cook! Tell me...How does this make sense!

OK! You guys have fun in your beautiful, clean, sanitary kitchens....Maybe I'll get even and send my Christmas Eve pictures, with the little darlings decorating Christmas cookies. Oh how lovely...One day a year the kitchen is clean and the little rots are good! If I only knew how to send them...Guess that is what my 15 year old is for....

I don't have messy drippy anything.. my floors are spotless!!! why??? I have dogs!

My counter tops have no mess.. why? I have BIG dogs that can put their chins on top of the counter tops if they wanted to... why tempt them?

My kitchen is sooo small, I have to clean as I go or there wouldn't be a kitchen.

mom11 - In my pictures you can clearly see that I am canning. I cant make too big of a mess as my kitchen isnt all that big.. and plus the fact that it irritates me to no end to have a sticky floor or counters. I also have two loving girls who help go behind me and clean up if I cant get to it right away.

LOL, it might be the first time I've ever been included in a "clean kitchen" group! I love my kidlets, but love to send them away too! Should I take a pic of what the kitchen looks like after they've been home for 5 minutes? Or after DH cooks? Not a speck of counter space left! (food, wrappers, dishes ALL OVER!!!!)

mom11, I had to laugh when I read your post. If you go clear back to the first post on this subject you'll see I said my picture was taken last SPRING when my kitchen was clean. It sure doesn't look like that this time of year!!!

Hi Jewlzm!

Where did you get little girls that lovingly clean behind you?? With the exception of my 15 year old son, mine run the other way! Honestly, I just feel like the maid, cook, laundrey lady around here. Geeze, went to specialist today and not one child wanted to know what doc. said. Not even the grown ones! I think I should resign!

Hi Dee!!

Where's your good computer?? Go get it!!! I need those messy kitchen pictures!!!! Right now, my counters are covered with 47 jars of apple pie filling and 48 jars of green apples. Everything else is squeezed in between. I was too lazy tonight to wash and store all those jars. I'm wondering what I was thinking....PIE FILLING! My ovens are broken and I am determined to never get them fixed again.

My 2 little autistic boys, each had a nurse do respite for them today, while I went to doc. I told them I was so embarrassed by my messy...FILTHY...house. They said we aren't here to judge. Sure wish they had said...Oh this house isn't so bad...UGH! I rarely use respite, it is more trouble than it is always worth. I have to use some though, because I will lose all their benefits, which cover their mental health services, therpy etc., anything my ins. doesn't cover. I just hate having someone come into my house, but the respite is tied to the other services. If we don't use respite, we lose everything. Dumb, isn't it? Wish they would just leave the kids to me and send me a maid, to do all the things I can't get to, because we are always at docs., therapies, dealing with tantrums etc. Yeah!!! A maid and you could see my pics!!
