GoatLady
So when an epidemic breaks out, how long is it expected to last? How long (roughly obviously) should we expect to have to hole up? Link to comment

GoatLady
oh ! there are waves! We may ride out the first wave but then get stuck with depleted supplies when the next round hits! Where's that little smily whacking my head into the wall??? Link to comment
Cat
The Spanish flu pandemic had three major waves. It was the second one that was the most deadly. Maybe the survivors of the first wave thought they were "safe" and took more chances?? Link to comment
westbrook
yup waves! if you are preparing for this.. make sure you have 3 waves of easy to cook foods.. you know open jar and heat. To me this means lots chicken soup and broth! but more for those needing to tend to the sick. figure at least 18 months...to be safe. this is why ya plan on 3 years of supplies. Link to comment
Leah
I figure it's like the eye of the storm. Gives you a breather, a chance to pick up the stuff that fell, grab a few more supplies and --- Here it comes again! Link to comment
