betty Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 Easy Fruit Dumplings (camping book recipe) Heat to bubbling dried fruit of choice covered with water. Mix together 2 cups biscuit mix and 2/3 cup water. Drop biscuit dough by spoonfuls onto hot fruit.Boil gently 12 minutes without removing cover. (Biscuit mix can be commercial or home made.) Biscuit Mix Stir until well mixed: 8 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups nonfat dry milk 2 teaspoons salt 1/4 cup baking powder Cut in and mix well: 1 1/2 cups shortening Makes 10 cups. Store in a tightly covered container in a cool place. Mix will last several weeks. Link to comment
