mommato3boys
and Saintsfan... After 5 hours of the longest drive in my life we arrived at Parris Island. Had to wait another hour and a half before we could see him. Finally we got to hold him and give him hugs after 13 weeks. He is home for 10 days!!!!!!! Then it is off to Camp Lejuene for 10 more weeks Link to comment

sassenach
Congrats on your son becoming a marine. My son went through Parris Island to begin with, and its very tough. I remember him either writing or calling once he could and how his buddy and him were in their foxhole one day, and they were both missin' their mammas so bad they sat down so they were hidden and both had a good cry... these are the memories we cherish, even when we realize they all love to shoot and blow stuff up now and get lots of rather 'hairy' practice to do so. God Bless your son and keep him safe while he serves. Link to comment
