Blackberry bushes

Recommended Posts

I have some wild blackberries growing in my garden, which is a small court yard inner suburb garden. Id love to be able to propergate them, or atleast train them. Is there anyone who could suggest how?

Thanks

Patricia

Be careful though, they grow like gangbusters.. (PNW here, with 12 acres of brambles). The berries grow on second year canes. They are near impossible to kill. Here, we need to go over them pulling them out 3 times with the tractor before we make headway to clear spots of them. They keep coming back!

Wild strawberries are just as bad once they go wild. They were on the homestead when we bought it & they're trying to take over one whole corner of a yard area.
