REMINDER - See attached flyer - plan to attend and help promote this training opportunity. PLEASE HELP PROMOTE - POST ATTACHED FLYER IN PUBLIC AREAS AND WITH NEWSLETTERS/BULLETINS. Volunteers in Preparedness Registry (VIPR) - pre-enrollment for a medical emergency - not limited to medical personnel. All interested or wanting more information should attend this training. This will greatly benefit our entire local community. Recruiting and training volunteers in Vicksburg/Warren County and surrounding areas. Please, keep reading! Please Pre-Register for meal count - by Thursday, Aug 20th! REGISTRATION AND BREAKFAST BEGINS AT 8:30 AM. TRAINING WILL LIKELY CONTINUE THROUGH LUNCH BREAK VIPR training (by MSDH) is coming to Vicksburg-Warren Public Library - Saturday, August 29th - 9:00 - 3:00 pm includes breakfast and lunch. Pre-registration before training date, by Aug. 20th for meal count, through City of Vicksburg Emergency Management Office, annab@vicksburg.org, or if no e-mail access, call phone # 601-801-3500 or 601-619-7884, we need to meet minimum training numbers, otherwise, training could be subject to cancellation. VIPR would allow you to volunteer to assist the State in the event of a local or non local medical emergency, i.e. PODS, H1N1 - possibly assist with vaccinations, etc - even if just crowd control or paperwork - not necessary to have medical background for many assignments; however, medical professionals including retired are strongly encouraged to enroll and train. (Again, please read flyer) Help your community by volunteering and promoting training attendance at your community organizations, churches, schools, work place, etc., PLEASE PRINT AND POST FLYER! We hope to train at least 100 persons (must be over 21 years). Again, mark your calendar August 29th 9:00am -3:00 pm - includes breakfast and lunch, location Vicksburg Public Library - 700 Veto Street - could end a little earlier. You may want to check out the MSDH website on volunteering. It is important to note the State (MSDH) is needing non medical volunteers, as well.
