Grace&Violets
I am currently student teaching in the first grade, in the same school that two of my own children attend. We knew that we were going to have confirmed cases of H1N1, we just weren't sure how many. As of today, 16% of the first graders that were not at school, were confirmed with H1N1. There are actually more than that missing from school, but those are just the confirmed cases. I know that I've been exposed and I'm really not wanting my DS with asthma to get it. Or if he does, that we can build up his immune system strong enough so that it doesn't make him too sick. My BIL, who works about 30 miles away, went to work about a week ago on a Friday. Out of 70 employees, only 6 had come into work that day. Of the missing employees, several had confirmed cases of H1N1, so many that one of the employee's doctors said that it was very probable that almost all of the absent employees had H1N1. It's definitely in full force all around me. Link to comment

Grace&Violets
Today, our class of 23 was missing 7 due to sickness (9 total), another first grade class was missing 8 and the other was missing 6. This is 1/3 of our first graders out sick, most with flu-like symptoms. Link to comment
