Update on my Mom

Recommended Posts

She was supposed to come home Mon., but had an episode with a skipped heart beat, so they have done a couple of tests, shocked her heart and got it back to sinus rythum, and transfered her to Sayre, where the "best" cardiac specialist in the world, so they tell us, is going to implant a special pacemaker and defib unit to keep it beating in a natural rythum.

He says he will have her home by Fri.

She seems quite comfortable with this.

We hope all goes as planned this time.

Lois, I will be praying for you mom.

I have a pace maker, and it works great. smile.gif

I am sure the two working together will do what is needed for your mom, or they wouldn't have suggested it.

There may come a day that I will have to have my pace maker replaced with the combination, but I hope it is a long way off.

Hi Lois:

I will be praying for your mom too! My mother-in-law had a pacemaker/defibrilator put in two years ago. It saved her life many times. We were so grateful for it. This past March she had a heart transplant. It is amazing the recovery process and the strength she has. Modern day medicine is an amazing thing!!!! smile.gif

What wonderful news Lois!!! I'm glad to hear she's coming home. It's *always* safer at home than at the hospital, even though there are times you need to be there.

Just spoke with my Mom an hour ago she had been out of OR for an hour and was feeling good. Every thing looks good for being home on Fri. 3 sisters and 1 brother with her.

I will be going tomorrow then be able to see her at home.

Thanks for all the prayers.

I am printing this out for her to see, she will love it.

Mom sends thanks to all for the prayers,

couldn't believe that folks all across the country were praying for her recovery.

She is feeling stronger today, she is 78, and just has a real zest for life. She passed it on to all of us.

Thanks to all of you.

Maggie here are some more smilies for you,

Lois,

These icons are SO cool. Our kids (29 & 32) will never believe that I have learned how to do this. They will be SO impressed!! I don't retain things well after 10:00 pm; so I'll practice tomorrow. grin.gif

I should have mentioned this morning that our experiences with Sayre and Guthrie have all been good.
