My 7mth old puppy got loose on friday, She broke her collar, she's still young and stupid and doesn't like to come when I call her. Luckily we did catch her (she's quick!). We came to find out she killed a squirrel, that must have what caused her to tug so hard. Anyway, we bought (what we hope is) a heavier collar. She's so strong and fast, and we live by a busy road... I'm just thankful we got her back safe.

I hate seeing dead animals on the side of the road. A dog just does me in. Dead cats make me cry. My daughter and I feel the same way, so when we see a dark lump coming up on the side of the road, only one is allowed to look until we determine whether or not it is an animal. Usually it is a dead cardboard box. I don't mourn them.

Kimba, I can't whistle so I would sing one certain song to an animal as I gave it a special treat. When they got away from me I'd sing that song and they'd come on the run. It may sound silly but it works. My milk goat loved "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head"! grin.gif
