I FOUND a bread site!

Recommended Posts

Since we grind our own wheat and make only wheat bread we use dough enhancer. The first link is about making wheat bread. The second link has videos and although what will come up on the screen is about dough enhancer, scroll down and you will find link to making various types of bread. Hope these work as a resource for you.

Allright! Bring it on!

Fantastic links. Now with good instructions our sourdough breads might NOT resemble bricks anymore.

Thanks for posting those links, you saved the day! The last one has a recipe for King Cake for Mardi Gras and I have to make it this year for the party at the Legion. I was looking for one to do the dough in a bread machine and there it was! Cool!

I made the whole wheat bread recipe from the everydayfoodstorage site. It's the best ww bread I've ever made! The ingredients call for dry potato flakes, which I normally don't buy. If I were to substitute a cooked potato, what would I have to change? Just reduce the water? anything else? by how much? Here's the ingredient list:

EZ Wheat Bread recipe

1 1/4 cup warm water

1 Tblsp active dry yeast

1/4 cup honey or 1/3 cup sugar

2 3/4 cups whole wheat flour (or whatever combination white/wheat you like..I use 100% hard white wheat. To learn more about the different types of wheat, download my wheat handout)

1/4 cup wheat gluten

1 tsp salt

2 Tblsp nonfat non instant dry milk

1 Tblsp butter/margarine/oil

1 Tblsp vinegar

1/4 cup potato flakes (NOT potato pearls)
