UrbanFool
I doubt this is the proper place for this post, but I'm trying to get this vintage rucksack to go together and am failing miserably. I'm going to attempt copying and pasting from my livejournal. Maybe a moderator can move this post to the right place please? I'm trying to figure out how to put this vintage rucksack together. The place I bought it suggests it's Norwegian, but I've found nothing that looks even remotely similar on the Internet --as in sewing techniques and the hardware and webbing on the bag. This is how I started putting it together, and then came to a complete halt. The bag has these metal clips. This is the suspenders. It has loops that are a bit crunched at the end, suggesting they hook to the metal clips somehow. Back in picture one, you can see how the straps appear to fit perfectly through the guides in the suspenders. This is the front and the bottom of the bag. There is also a 2" wide belt, and a ton of web gear. Anybody have an idea? Link to comment

WormGuy
The way the suspenders looked scrunched up makes me think the fit the "snaps" in the second picture. Maybe take it to a military surplus store to see if they know. John Link to comment
UrbanFool
Well, I got it at the only military surplus store in town, and they didn't know how to put it together. Leave it to me to find something like this. Link to comment
WormGuy
Any military bases nearby? John Link to comment
UrbanFool
Unfortunately, no. I moved here so my city would have no reason to be targeted in case of nuclear war. LOL! Well, there's nothing a few feet of Velcro won't fix! Link to comment
